Amid allegations against BBC presenter Gregg Wallace, the channel announced recently that their show The MasterChef Christmas is being pulled. This happened after Wallace was accused of making offensive s*xual remarks. According to a BBC report published on December 3, the channel stated that all MasterChef episodes that had already been taped would show as scheduled, including the holiday specials.

The announcement came after an interaction between Wallace and model Penny Lancaster resurfaced online after the broadcaster was accused of bullying her by her husband, Sir Rod Stewart. In the video from the show, which has now leaked, Penny, the star of Loose Women, was mortified by her fried calamari and tartare sauce.

As Penny struggled with her timing, Gregg then said:

"Mate, we can't be 10 minutes late."

He went on to call her delay "serious." On the other hand, Wallace, who has resigned from his position as the cookery show's host, has refuted claims that he made offensive s*xual remarks.

Due to a crisis involving accusations against broadcaster Gregg Wallace, the BBC is canceling its MasterChef Christmas specials. Earlier this month, BBC One was scheduled to broadcast two Christmas specials.

The Christmas special's celebrity participants are now being questioned about the factors that led to the show's cancellation. As per the BBC, a spokesperson of the channel said on December 3:

“As we have said, MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the chefs taking part and the current series of MasterChef: The Professionals is continuing as planned.”

They further said:

“The celebrity Christmas specials are obviously a different type of show and in the current circumstances we have decided not to broadcast them.”

The announcement followed the recent viral success of a resurfaced clip featuring Gregg Wallace and Penny Lancaster. During the video, Penny felt embarrassed due to her fried calamari and tartare sauce.

While cooking, Penny said to the cameras:

"I'm doing surprisingly well compared to what I imagined how I'd be doing. I don't want to slip up now."

However, when Penny tasted her food, she said:

"That tartare sauce doesn't look like the tartare sauce I'd normally have."

Gregg Wallace then told her:

"You used whole eggs instead of egg yolks."

To this, Judge John Torode said:

"What I've got in here is a raw egg/oil milkshake. Unfortunately, I can't eat that."

However, during the episode in which she was eliminated, things took a different turn. Gregg stated that Penny was having trouble with her timing, and said that they couldn’t be 10 minutes late. After that, he called her delay "serious."

Following the news, as per Edinburgh Live’s December 3 report, Sir Rod Stewart, Penny’s husband, described Gregg Wallace as a "tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully." He further wrote in a post on Instagram on November 29 and shared with his 1.4million followers:

"So Greg Wallace gets fired from Masterchef. Good riddance Wallace…You humiliated my wife when she was on the show but you had that bit cut out didn’t you? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart."

On the other hand, as per Mirror’s report from the same day, according to a statement from Banijay UK, the show's production company, Wallace is "committed to fully cooperating throughout the process" during the investigation.

The source further stated that earlier this week, a statement read:

"This week the BBC received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows."

It further said:

"Whilst these complainants have not raised the allegations directly with our show producers or parent company Banijay UK, we feel that it is appropriate to conduct an immediate, external review to fully and impartially investigate.”

Nevertheless, as per the Guardian's November 28 report, following the accusations, Gregg Wallace is all set to step away from presenting MasterChef. However, he has so far denied all the allegations.
