TikTok users are taking part in the Greatest Showman tributary dance trend following the death of Essex-native Joules. The six-year-old tragically died from terminal cancer on Monday, December 9. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign raised nearly £100,000 in support of Joules’ family.
On December 13, X user @Bluewavein2026 took to the social networking site to confirm that netizens were taking part in a dance trend where they moved to the The Greatest Showman title track.
They revealed that many took to doing so to pay tribute to the child who was fond of dancing.
Facebook user Kimberly Fleming took to the social networking site on December 13 to share a video of their daughter dancing in honor of the Essex child. She wrote in the video’s caption:
“To to honor her memory, our TikTok community, is dancing for her. She touched all her hearts with her cute little dances. May you rest in peace, sweetie.”
This comes after Joules found herself battling an inoperable brain tumor, as per Birmingham Mail. In June, Essex Live reported that the child was given “possibly nine months” as she underwent radiotherapy to manage symptoms.
Her father, Joe Smith, said in a statement to Birmingham Mail that she:
“has the worst of the worst, there has never been a child survive, there’s never been a doctor to operate.”
A GoFundMe page created for Joules’ family amassed nearly £100,000
Kirk Norcross created a GoFundMe page on behalf of Joules’ parents, Joe and Elisha Smith. He revealed that he had been close to the family for years and wanted to raise money in support of the family. Kirk said through the fundraising campaign:
“The Smith families whole life has come to an absolute standstill. Their world has been rocked and their hearts have been torn out. Their life has now been put on hold they both are unable to work as much as they need to as they both want to spend every second with her and all they are trying to do is provide an amazing life for Joules before she sadly leaves us.”
Kirk went on to add that the money raised through the GoFundMe would help the family get through the difficult time. He said:
“The reason I’ve set set up this GoFundMe page is to be able to give some kind of support to the whole family to make their life a little bit bearable as I said there whole life has come to a stand still I would like everybody to please help as much as you can.
He continued:
"We do understand that times are hard but anything will help any money that is raised on this page will go to the Smith family directly to make sure that they are coping and Joules has everything that she needs.”
On June 3, the GoFundMe page shared an update about the youngster by revealing that she had a photoshoot.
Many continue to grieve her loss through the Greatest Showman dance trend.
