YouTube’s Lofi Girl and Synthwave Boy have disappeared from their official channel. The two characters are best known in the Lofi Hip-Hop music genre on the video-sharing platform. Unexpectedly, they were no longer seen by their desks on Monday, November 13 around 9 a.m. EST. Netizens have since taken to the internet to speculate what happened to them.
As she always does, Lofi Girl, whose official name is Jade, was present at her desk studying this morning. At one point, she glanced out of the window and turned a page of her notebook. Her signature orange cat accompanied her as he lazily peered outside as well. Meanwhile, her friend Synthwave Boy could not be visible on his livestream either.
Jade dropped out of her livestream as Kanisan’s morning moon track continued to play in the background.
Around 9:23 a.m. EST, Jade took to her official X account and updated fans of her empty workspace. She also shared an image of Synthwave’s beloved set-up.
A few hours later, their livestreams showed fog. It also appeared as if a stream was attempting to capture something by zooming in. At the time of writing this article, fans could see a snowflake-like symbol with the backdrop of fog on their screens.
