On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Seint Beauty revealed that they were transitioning into an 'affiliate program' model. The organization shared that it would no longer be using its multi-level marketing (MLM) structure, which was initially focused on selling makeup products and recruiting others to do so as well. Saint Beauty is a makeup brand whose sales representatives tend to be influencers, whom the brand has labeled as Artists.

The organization was initially operating on a multi-level marketing model where Artists made money by selling products through their influence and also recruited others to sell makeup products. They additionally earned money when their new distributors made sales. Now, with the new change, Artists will solely earn money from the products they sell.

Seint Beauty took to their Instagram account to reveal that their "Artist Program" is transitioning to an "Enhanced Affiliate Model" effective October 1, 2024.

“Artists will no longer receive compensation for recruiting or team building efforts; instead, they will be exclusively rewarded through our affiliate program based on their dedication to sales and exceptional customer service,” the company said.

Seint Beauty’s Affiliate Program model shift explained

The company's new model came as a shock for many associated with them. Seint Beauty claimed that they were making the change to simplify the commission structure, allowing for earning potential based on sales and impact in promoting Seint products.

The company's shift in business structure will not significantly affect Artists who have not built teams of their own. The organization also announced that the majority of their Artists worked solo, and hence, the changes wouldn't affect most of them.

However, those who recruited others to sell the products will be given time to change their business strategies. The Cara Brook-owned organization announced:

“To support this transition, Seint is providing a three-month period for Artists to align their business strategies maximizing sales opportunities.”

The company’s announcement garnered a wide range of reactions. Several individuals took to the internet to express their thoughts on the change in the business structure. Artist Savanah Poulsen was one of the many individuals who was dissatisfied with losing the opportunity to mentor and lead recruits. In an emotional Facebook video, Poulsen mentioned that the news was "too much to comprehend."

“You are still able to order Seint makeup through me but I will no longer be able to mentor and lead a team there. I will be leading and mentoring elsewhere because it’s part of my soul. Let’s talk if you want to join me. Love you all,” she said.

However, some were pleased with the change. Artist Kaylee Chodkowski opined on Facebook that she loves the new model as it is focused on product sales.

The company is set to switch to the affiliate model on October 1, 2024.
