Where was John Early last seen? Search for missing mushroom hunter intensifies 

65-year-old John Early disappeared during a camping trip on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Early reportedly went on a mushroom hunting trip with a friend and was last seen along Highway 66. He reportedly did not have a vehicle and also didn't drive.

Several search and rescue teams have been deployed to look for the missing camper, who was last seen wearing a shirt, hoodie, and hiking boots. Canine units and ATVs have been included in order to look for John Early.

Law enforcement officials in Jackson County have further urged the public to contact them in case they have any information about the missing camper who disappeared in the late afternoon of April 30, 2023. Authorities are trying to locate the missing man, but they haven't had any luck with the case yet.

Jackson County officials confirmed the disappearance of 65-year-old John Early when he went on a mushroom hunting trip with his friend. Early was last seen on Sunday in the late afternoon.

Multiple search and rescue teams from Douglas, Josephine, Klamath, and Siskiyou counties have been deployed to look for the missing man. The search procedures will include canine units and ATVs. Public Information Officer Aaron Lewis said,

“They have a good appropriate location, and there’s a large team out there looking. I would imagine they’re pouring through the wood out there right now.”

The missing man has been described as being 6’2”, and weighing about 200 pounds, having fair skin, red hair, and blue eyes. John Early was also wearing a “long John style shirt” and a pair of jeans, a hoodie, and hiking boots at the time of his disappearance.

Early and his friend were reportedly separated while hunting for mushrooms

Law enforcement officials urged the public to report to them in case they notice any suspicious activity, or receive any information about Early. A press release has been issued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office stating that John Early was last seen east of Ashland along Highway 66. Authorities further revealed that 65-year-old John did not drive and also did not have a vehicle when he disappeared.

Early and his friend allegedly got separated when they were on a mushroom-hunting camping trip on Sunday. The case is currently under investigation and authorities are deploying every possible measure to find John Early.
