Who is Alexander Dapo? Woman accuses Nigerian music producer of s*xual harrassment after she starred in his music video

Nigerian singer Alexander Dapo recently made the headline after an X user @missionarylani accused him of s*xual harassment. This allegedly happened after she starred in one of his recent music videos. In a series of X posts, uploaded by the user on December 4, she narrated the entire incident.

The caption of the first post read:

“This email just pi*sd me off.”

She then shared the screenshot of some messages and continued:

“Didn't want to do this but this but I have no choice, On September 1 2024, @AlexanderDapo reached out to me to be in his music video, "a Christian song*, we've never had any interaction before this, we came to an agreement and I kept everything professional.”

Alexander Dapo is a Nigerian-born music producer. He is also a pop singer. Some of his songs include HERO, MIRACLE WORKER, PARADISE, and LUCIFER.

Nigerian singer Alexander Dapo is now facing s*xual harassment allegations

As per Boomplay, singer Alexander Dapo, whose birth name is Shadrach Ayooluwa Ojedapo, was born on May 31, 1999, at a church in Ejigbo, Lagos, Nigeria. Olusola and Olukemi Ojedapo, his parents, were Nigerian Christians.

According to the same source, Alexander Dapo has stated that his parents did not encourage his musical career. The singer's life has been mostly centered around music, starting with his early church singing, continuing with his school's Christian choir throughout elementary and high school, and releasing his first song at the age of 14.

However, he recently made the news as X user @missionarylani alleged him of s*xually harassing her. In the first of the many messages, the user claimed that Alexander Dapo reportedly approached her to star in his music video.

As per the screenshot of their conversation, that the woman shared, Dapo allegedly wrote:

“Hi, I'm Alex and I'm a musician. I found your page hoping I could use some of your acting skills for a video I'm trying to make to promote my song. I'm in Unilag and I want to shoot a video that requires a girl to play the role of my wife. I'd like to know if you're interested so we can negotiate on a price that will work for you. Hope to hear from you soon!.”

She then answered:

“Hi.. I'm interested and I would love to work with you..”

He further shared a link to his song and tagged it as “private.” When she replied that she loved the song and asked where would he want to shoot it, he allegedly said:

“In Unilag. I'm yet to pick a date. But it will be this October.”

The X user further claimed that the music producer reportedly sent her the plot of the music video, which involved kissing. As she was uncomfortable with it, she somehow managed to convince him to make the kiss fake.

She then said that they met up in Unilag waterfront for the shoot. After the shoot, she was meant to collect the remaining half of the payment. However, while walking her out, Alexander Dapo allegedly kept talking about how this music video was special. Even though the user was tired, she listened to him as she wanted the rest of the payment.

He further allegedly addressed her as being his dream wife. She ignored the comment at first however, he later reportedly texted her and claimed to be “s*xually attracted” to her.

The user then blocked him when he offered her an inappropriate proposal. He then sent her an email at 4 am, alleging that she was acting like a child. He further warned her that she would regret rejecting him.
