Palestinian influencer Atallah Younes received backlash for using fireworks recklessly on New Year's Eve. In the now-deleted video, the man sent a firework directly at a residential building in the suburb of Berlin-Neukölln.
The firework entered a child's bedroom and exploded, seemingly catching fire. No one was injured. However, the room was severely damaged, with furniture and carpet burnt. The video garnered over 10 million views.

Atallah Younes is a 24-year-old influencer who currently lives in Germany. He has over 300,000 followers on Instagram and over 180,000 followers on TikTok. The content creator creates humorous reels and TikTok videos and occasionally creates travel content.

After the video went viral, Atallah Younes received massive backlash in Germany and worldwide. He deleted the original video after he started receiving threats.
The Palestinian influencer uploaded an apology video, claiming he did not mean to do it and that the whole world was against him.
He expressed he faced racism after the video went viral, and he expressed that he was surprised because of the amount of media attention he received.
The influencer felt upset that Germans wanted him to leave the country. Younes requested that Germans and Arabs living in Germany support him. He said,
“They hate Arabs & lslam that’s why they are racist against me.”

The influencer allegedly tried to flee Germany. He got arrested at the airport while trying to escape to Jordan. Berlin Police said in a statement on Saturday:
"A man suspected of serious arson on New Year's Eve was arrested today by federal police while attempting to leave the country at Berlin airport following search operations by our State Criminal Police." [H/T Dailymail]
Before his arrest, Younes uploaded a video with the building's owner. In the video, he expressed that he did not throw the fireworks with ill intentions and did not know that they would go towards the apartment.
This apology, however, did not satisfy netizens as they continued to flood his comment section with criticism.
Now, the 24-year-old is under police observation and waiting for judgment.
