On September 22, fashion influencer Bridget Bahl shared on Instagram that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The blogger shared that her doctor discovered the same as she was in the midst of her IVF retrievals. In her announcement, she revealed that she remains positive about her treatment working.

In an Instagram video, the 41-year-old social media personality told followers that she and her husband, Michael Chiodo, were attempting her sixth IVF retrieval as they were trying to have a baby. Bahl said in her video:

“I was maybe two or three days into the shots, and I had the routine bloodwork, sonogram with my doctor, and I told him I had felt something in my breast.”

The medical practitioner then advised her to go for imaging at the earliest. Bridget Bahl stated that she was initially not too worried about the same as she was feeling “great.” However, she went on to meet a doctor who showed her that she had a mass. The doctor reportedly said:

“Bridget, I have been doing this for a long time, and I do not like what I see.”

Following a biopsy, it was later confirmed that she certainly had breast cancer that had made it to a lymph node as well.

For those uninitiated, Bridget Bahl initially worked as a publicist for Yves Saint Laurent. She went on to rise to fame with her lifestyle blog ANDIWASLIKE.


Bridget Bahl has amassed over a million followers on Instagram

Bridget Bahl is very active on Instagram and consistently shares snippets of her life on social media. Her bio on the platform reads, “saved by grace based in nyc & dallas.” The fashion blogger frequently shares links to her outfits and makeup online.

The Pittsburgh-born had predominantly showcased her collaboration with Revolve online at the time of writing this article. Her Revolve collection mostly included pink sequins skirts and tops along with white casual outfit staples.

As per Rebag, she is also a Style Assembly member of the merchandise.

The Fashion Institute of Technology student opened up about her career beginnings with Rebag as well. In an interview, she explained what the transition from being a publicist to an influencer was like. She said:

“Honestly, the transition was a hard one for me. I had just spent years working my way up the corporate ladder and all of the sudden I was at the bottom again. Right back to intern level, not making any money… hustling. Working in PR really molded me. I am super grateful for those years!”

Prior to becoming an influencer, she also briefly worked as a freelance assistant for Vogue in 2007.

The influencer is married to plastic surgeon Michael Chiodo. The Dallas-based medical expert studied at New York University before completing his fellowship at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. His official website reads:

Bridget Bahl also shared on Instagram that she will likely undergo chemotherapy and radiation to treat the cancer. She also added:

“The good news is that the type I have is very responsive to a targeted treatment, which gives us so much hope.”

Bahl also told netizens that she and her husband will continue their IVF retrieval process in the meantime.

Followers have since wished her well and offered her support online.
