On June 26, 2024, podcaster Brooke Schofield uploaded a 14-part TikTok series where she addressed her relationship with her ex-boyfriend and singer, Clinton Kane. Schofield amassed nearly 40 million views in total after chronicling her former relationship with the musician online. She claimed that Kane lied about his mother's death and his Australian roots. She added:

“He said, ‘She can’t stop yapping.’ I’m like, ‘I will show you yapping.’”

Previously on June 25, Kane seemingly accused Schofield of “yapping” while promoting his latest song titled I Don’t Want To Live In A World Without You on TikTok. Kane wrote:

“When you’ve been over the relationship for two years, but she won’t stop yapping.”

Following the release of Schofield’s 14-part series, Kane’s team issued an official statement denying Schofield's recent comments.

For the uninitiated, Brooke Schofield is best known online for appearing alongside fellow influencer, Tana Mongeau, in their Cancelled podcast. The 27-year-old became an internet personality after a brief stint in Hollywood, where she acted in movies like Leave Him in the Dust and Hook, Line, Sinker.

The Los Angeles, California-residing internet personality became famous after becoming friends with Tana Mongeau. Mongeau officially launched her popular podcast titled Cancelled on July 26, 2021, and Schofield joined as a co-host after a couple of initial episodes. The latter amassed over 700,000 followers on Instagram after making appearance in numerous Tana Mongeau videos.

On June 26, Brooke Schofield took to TikTok to share the details of her three-month-long relationship with Clinton Kane. She started by revealing that Kane had lied to her at several occasions. He reportedly lied about his age, childhood, race, and where he was born.

She claimed in her videos that Kane told her that “his mom, dad, and brother died in the same year," which was furthest away from the truth. She also noted that Kane would often blame her for worsening his childhood trauma. Schofield elaborated:

“The overwhelming common theme of all our arguments was I was worsening his trauma, and he can’t believe that I’m so insensitive to everything that he has been through. I remind him so much of his mother, who was so horrible to him, and I should be way more sensitive to everything he is going through.”

Brooke Schofield also revealed that the singer lied about being from Australia. Adding to the list of falsehoods, she claimed that she continued to date Kane until he cheated on her with multiple people. She stated:

“We were spending every single second together, so if I matched up to timelines, we would be laying together in bed watching Bridgerton.”

The social media star added that she learned the truth about Kane once he admitted himself. He reportedly told her that he faked the deaths of his mother and brother. She managed to get in touch with Kane’s mother via Facebook after Kane repeatedly lied to her.

Brooke Schofield ended her lengthy TikTok series by saying that it had been two years since they ended their relationship. She also opined that Kane was instigating drama with her to promote his music. Schofield said:

“So honestly, you guys, do him a service, he needs money for therapy.”

Clinton Kane's team releases statement in response to Brooke Schofield's TikTok series

After Schofield criticized Kane, his team issued a statement to People magazine to reveal his side of the story. His team noted that Kane was born in the Philippines, however, “he considered Australia to be his home." He was never "disingenuous about this fact.” Addressing Schofield’s claims related to Kane lying about his mother, the statement read:

“Clinton was lucky enough to have a very special mother-like figure in his teenage years, who sadly passed. Clinton regrets the way this devastating news was communicated at the time.”

The press statement went on to accuse Brooke Schofield of “rehashing” details that Kane had told her. Kane's team added that it was simply to promote “Brooke’s podcast at the expense of tearing down another former boyfriend- a tactic she’s become known for.”

At the time of publishing this article, Brooke Schofield had not publicly responded to the statement shared by Kane's team.
