Amidst the tragic LA fires, YouTubers Colin and Samir left their followers shocked as they revealed that the duo lost their homes in the Palisades fire with both of their wives currently expecting.

Sharing a joint statement on Instagram on January 10, 2024, Colin & Samir stated:

“Unfortunately both of our homes burned down in the Palisades fire. The enormity of the loss is very overwhelming. Both of our wives are pregnant and our primary focus right now is getting back on stable ground.”

Colin and Samir then stated that due to the circumstances, they would be “pausing” their work to “figure out what’s next.” Colin and Samir also thanked @DudePerfect for creating a GoFundMe fundraiser, which has raised $173, 278 as of this writing, as more than 630 people donated towards the cause.

The joint statement continued:

“We’re grateful to the firefighters and first responders for continuing to fight the fire. To everyone who follows along with us, words don’t begin to capture how much you mean to us."

Colin and Samir are YouTubers with over 1.5 million subscribers, known for creating educational content. They recently launched a podcast, featuring videos with people like Emma Chamberlain, Kinigra Deon, MrBeast, and more on their main channel. The duo has been creating content for the last 10 years.

The devastating Palisades Fire broke out on January 7 in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of Los Angeles and has since burned through more than 20,000 acres, with containment efforts reaching only 8%, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Due to the same, thousands of residents have been evacuated, and emergency shelters have been set up to assist those displaced.

The fires have caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure, and air quality remains dangerously low in affected areas. To combat the same, firefighters have been relentlessly working, however, as per Deadline, authorities are urging residents to stay alert and follow evacuation orders as conditions evolve.

President Joe Biden also issued a disaster declaration for the same and released several funds so that the fire could be stopped immediately, and the acres of area where the fire is about to spread could be stopped from getting affected. As per Vox, the fires started due to drought conditions which dried up the vegetation followed by massive winds.

Notably, Colin and his wife, Madilyn got married in Malibu in April 2024, while Samir and his wife, Katie tied the knot in 2022.

On the other hand, Colin and Samir are not the only celebrities to lose their homes to the fire, as People Magazine reported that other celebrities like Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, Candy Spelling, and many more lost their houses due to the tragedy. Furthermore, Dexerto also claimed that TikTok stars Harry Mack’s and FaZe Kaysan’s homes were also burned in the fire.
