The young humanitarian began documenting her work on the platform, focusing mainly on young children's education across Zambia. Dora Moono Nyambe built schools for over 500 children
The late philanthropist grew up in Lusaka, Zambia's capital city. In an Instagram video from October 10, Dora said she was visiting a friend's place in Mapapa village in 2019 as she awaited her visa approval.
Upon witnessing multiple cases of s*xual assault of children and girls becoming young mothers across the village, Dora decided to stay.
Dora, a mother to her five adopted children, and an educator, started living inside a mud hut and initially held classes under a mpundu tree in Mapapa. However, as she was running out of savings from her job, one of her adopted children introduced her to TikTok.
The young mother began documenting her humanitarian efforts on the platform. Dora Moono Nyambe built her nonprofit, Footprints of Hope, in January 2019, through which four schools were built to accommodate more than 500 children.
Footprints of Hope not only built schools for students but also provided shelter and food to other underprivileged children.
Dora had since gained over four million followers on TikTok. She made witty videos about malnutrition, starvation, forced child marriages, fathers r*ping their underage daughters, and many other ongoing social issues across the village of Mapapa. In several posts, Dora talked about stopping young girls from forcefully getting married and putting abusers in jail.
Her charity also actively put efforts to provide for young mothers who had undergone health complications due to childbirth.
In some of Dora Moono Nyambe's posts preceding her death, the 32-year-old revealed how she was the "most hated" person in the village, especially by men for carrying out her work and stopping abuse and other issues.
Dora recently revealed sustaining a leg injury. On December 16, she posted a video, where her right leg was seen in a cast. In her latest endeavor, she was raising funds for a new school bus. Despite her injury, Dora told followers:
"A hurt leg can’t stop us! Lets get the k!ds of this remote village a school bus. We can do this."
Dora Moono Nyambe also collaborated with MrBeast's charity, Beast Philanthropy. Her latest Instagram post from December 23, documented Dora and MrBeast's joined efforts to rebuild the dorms in the Footprints of Hope campus that suffered damages from a storm last year.
