Popular TV designer Eduardo Xol passed away this Friday, September 20, 2024, at the age of 58. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Xol took his last breath at the Desert Regional Medical Center after he was stabbed by a man on the morning of September 10, 2024.
Eduardo Xol’s passing away was confirmed by his family, who released a statement, and said:
“We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol. We know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many. We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief.”
They concluded their statement by requesting:
“In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others.”
The reason for the stabbing has not yet been revealed by the family. However, The Palm Springs Police Department reported that they have taken a man, Richard Joseph Gonzales, in custody, and have charged him with murder. His court date has been set for December 18 this year.
Eduardo Xol was best known for starring in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Apart from being a TV designer, he was also a singer in Latin America and was best known for his album, La Pasion, which came out in 1993.
Furthermore, he also wrote and published the book, Home Sense: Simple Solutions to Enhance Where and How You Live in the year 2007.
Eduardo Xol was born in Los Angeles in 1966
Born in 1966 in Los Angeles, Xol started his career in music at a very young age, as he was selected to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Thereafter, he also joined the theatre and performed at The Palm Beach Club in Cannes, France.
He made his debut in acting with the film, Zoot Suit and then starred in various TV soaps, including Cuerpo y Alma, Acapulco, La Jaula de Oro, and many more. Furthermore, he also appeared in the 1998 movie, Bravo.
Furthermore, he also worked as a correspondent for People en Español and AOL Latino briefly.
Apart from his acting, singing, and TV career, Eduardo Xol was also known for his charity work, as he founded the ALUMI Media Group, which worked for students in the field of art from the underserved community.
Thereafter, he also worked with the Lupus Foundation of America and was a supporter of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD.)
Entertainment Weekly reported that the police were called to Eduardo Xol’s residence after the stabbing took place. As soon as the authorities arrived, they discovered that Eduardo had “significant injuries consistent with an assault.” At that time, he was rushed to the hospital in a “serious but stable condition.”
While fans and followers are mourning the loss of the TV personality, the family is yet to reveal more details about his funeral and memorial services.
