Halle Berry played the role of Storm in four X-Men movies; X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

During an interview with ComicBook published on August 12, Halle Berry shared that actress Blake Lively once approached her about reprising her role as Storm in Deadpool and Wolverine. However, Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds who co-wrote and co-produced the movie didn't follow up with her.

Marvel movies Deadpool and Wolverine featured surprise returns of several characters from Jennifer Garner's Elektra to Wesley Snipes' Blade.

When asked if her character was to join Marvel's list of cameos, Halle replied,

"No. Blake asked me one time. I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, 'Would you ever be in my husband's movie as Storm?' I said, 'Yeah, if he asked me, 'but he never asked me."

Halle Berry's character "Storm" or Ororo Munroe in the X-Men film series is a powerful mutant, who has often served as a leader of the X-Men. She is recognized by her distinct powerful getup, flowing white hair, and capes.

Her recent interview with the ComicBook isn't the first time Halle has agreed to reprise Storm for Marvel.

While talking to Vanity Fair in 2021, Halle Berry expressed her desire to replay her X-Men character Storm if there was a story "that would make sense." She also shared that she loved playing Storm.

"I would absolutely return to it. It's a beloved character."

Halle has often talked about playing Storm. During an interview with Wired, published on August 15, Halle Berry opened up about why playing a strong female character such as Storm meant so much to her,

"I really loved playing Storm. You know, being in the world of the X-Men and mutants was always really important to me, because being a women of color, I have often felt on the outside of things."

Halle mentioned she has felt "marginalized", "overlooked" and "unseen" and the storyline of X-Men where the mutants find their voice and are appreciated "for who they really were" resonated with her.

"And as a Black woman, I really related to that. SO it was fun to put on the skin of Storm, to fly, and to be part of that kind of storytelling. I thought it was really important."

As per the original X-Men comics created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum in 1976 Storm was a descendent of an African witch-priestess.
