Who is Jamal Morton? Popular TikTok star's home swatted after his partner allegedly filed a false police report

Popular TikTok star Jamal Morton recently had a run-in with law enforcement authorities after his partner allegedly filed a false police report. The influencer took to his social media on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, to inform his followers that "the police almost unlived" him, with an in-post caption:

"POV your bm had your house swatted."

According to Cambridge Dictionary, swatted comes from the term SWAT units, a group of police officers trained to deal with dangerous situations. Swatting refers to someone making a false emergency report that draws a strong police response.

Morton is an actor and singer who rose to fame on social media. He is known for making content surrounding comedy and point of view (POV) situations. He is frequently seen eating in his videos.


Jamal Morton joined TikTok in July 2022

Jamal Morton was born on November 10, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia. In a September 2019 interview with Voyage ATL magazine, Morton explained he began as a theater actor at the age of four and later transitioned into television.

Per his interview, he goes by the moniker J'Amore, given to him by Reginald Crossley, a commissioner at the Fulton County Department of Health & Human Services. Jamal explained Crossley has had one of the "biggest influences" on his career.

According to his IMDb, Jamal Morton first appeared in the crime drama miniseries, Deven Jackson, P.A. His breakout role was on an episode of the crime documentary show, Fatal Attraction, in 2016.

Some of his other acting credits include Justice: By Any Means, If Loving You Is Wrong, and It's the Ghosts for Me. Morton also wrote and produced the latter show.

In July 2022, Jamal Morton joined TikTok, creating POV content surrounding parenting and his family life. He boasts a following of over three million on the platform.

In his interview with Voyage ATL, Jamal revealed he is also a rapper and a writer. He frequently wrote for the teen pop group, The OMG Girlz.

According to Genius.com, in January 2024, Jamar Morton released his debut album, Soul Food.

Talking to the publication, Jamal Morton explained that in the 2000s, he was indicted and facing a twenty-year sentence. He added:

"When I went to court, my judge Alfred J Dempsey was working on a murder trial, therefore, I had to be reset. My public defender gave me two choices; Either wait until the trial is over or go in front of another judge the same day which would be VERY risky!"

After days of waiting, he eventually got a court date. In the end, he took a "negotiated plea" and was sentenced to five years of probation. Jamal Morton continued:

"I don’t regret anything I did because it taught me a lesson. It humbled me. It made me wiser. That was 10 years ago. Now, I am proud to announce my new shoe line, 'Amore.'"

Morton is referring to his brand, Alive Shoes. Per the website, he designed dad-style sneaker shoes called Amore. Per Voyage ATL, proceeds from the shoe sales go to helping suicide prevention.

He also started a focus group to help further the cause.


Jamal has not shared an update about the development.
