Blake Lively has named Jamey Heath, the CEO of Wayfarer Studio, in her lawsuit against It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, filed on Saturday. Baldoni co-founded Wayfarer in 2019 alongside billionaire philanthropist Steve Sarowitz.
In the lawsuit, Lively alleged Baldoni behaved unprofessionally and inappropriately with her on set. She further accused him of running a smear campaign against her after filming wrapped to stain her reputation.
The lawsuit named five other defendants, including Jamey Heath, the lead producer, and Wayfarer’s co-founder, Sarowitz.
Jamey Heath joined the production studio in 2020 as an interim chief operational officer and was promoted to president in 2022. In March this year, Heath was named CEO, with Tera Hanks joining Wayfarer as its new president.
Jamey Heath began his career as a musician, writer, composer, and studio producer. He reportedly contributed to writing and producing tracks for Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Guy Sebastian, Idina Menzel, Yasmeen, Ray J, and a few others.
During his teenage years, Jamey Heath was influenced by the Bahá’í faith and was part of a youth workshop at 15. He is married to Natasha Heath and shares four children.
Additionally, Jamey Heath co-hosts the Man Enough podcast alongside Justin Baldoni and Liz Plank.
Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni and Jamey Heath of improper behavior on set
According to the court filing, Jamey Heath and Baldoni discussed their "personal s*xual experiences" in front of Lively and even coaxed her to do the same at times.
Heath and Baldoni are accused of pressuring Blake Lively to imitate complete nudity during the scene where her character, Lily Bloom, gives birth. The actress claimed there was no prior mention of nudity in her contract or the script.
Lively alleged that she had to comply with Heath and Baldoni's suggestion and only had a piece of fabric covering her privates during the birth scene. She alleged the scene lacked "standard industry protections." Jamey Heath allegedly showed Lively an unsolicited graphic video of his wife's childbirth, which the actress initially deemed an adult video.
According to the filing, Blake Lively wanted to discuss Justin Baldoni's lack of professionalism on set with Heath. However, she alleged Heath barged into her trailer without prior notice while she was having her makeup removed from her upper body. Despite requesting Heath wait until she was properly dressed, she claimed the producer insisted on entering the space.
Lively reluctantly agreed but asked Jamey Heath to turn his back to her. However, the actress alleged she found Heath facing her just minutes later while she was still topless.
Both Jamey Heath and Justin Baldoni are further accused of entering Blake Lively's trailer several times unannounced, including one instance where she was breastfeeding her infant son, Olin. Lively accused Heath and Baldoni of frequently talking about their past s*xual encounters and their alleged addiction to watching adult films.
Blake Lively dubbed Jamey Heath and Justin Baldoni's actions "invasive, unwelcome, unprofessional and s*xually inappropriate behavior" during a meeting held in January. In the meeting, Lively proposed some rules to stop Heath and Baldoni from executing their on-set behavior.
According to one of these rules, Lively or no other female crew on the set would tolerate Heath and Baldoni's advances and their invasion of privacy or any unwanted physical touch. Another rule was not to improvise any kissing or intimate scene or demand nudity.
Discussion of Heath and Baldoni's personal s*xual experiences in front of Lively and other female employees on set was also restricted.
Jamey Heath has not addressed Blake Lively's allegations or the lawsuit yet. However, Justin Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman called Lively's claims "false" and "outrageous." He claimed the actress filed the lawsuit to "fix her negative reputation" that gained the media's attention during the promotional phase of It Ends With Us.
