Broadway star June Walker Rogers passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the age of 97. Per the Hollywood Reporter, the unfortunate news was announced by her family, who added that she died at her home in Westport, Connecticut.
The Ohio-born Broadway star is known for her on-stage singing, dancing, and comedy, as well as her playwright skills. She is best remembered for her roles opposite Bert Lahr and Dick Van Dyke in The Girls Against the Boys and with Tony Bennett in Guys & Dolls.
In addition to acting, June has contributed as a writer (or co-writer) to musicals like All American, The Dream on Royal Street, and 45 Minutes From Broadway. She also wrote a book, How to Make It in Showbiz: A Survival Kit, which was read at theater departments across universities.

June Walker Rogers was born in Steubenville, Ohio, and raised in Queens, New York. The actress began dancing when she was just five and soon got the opportunity to perform as a nightclub act, performing on bills with superstars from the 50s and 60s like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Rodney Dangerfield.
June graduated from an accelerated program for gifted children in the New York school system at the age of 15. She attended Columbia University on a scholarship but left to make her Broadway debut as Laffing Room Only, along with Ole Olsen and Chic Johnson.
The actress has appeared in Broadway musicals like Little Me, Bells Are Ringing, and The Perfect Party. While she never received an award, she has performed at the White House for Presidents Truman and Eisenhower. Per the Hollywood Reporter, a performance of her play Heidi was performed at the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena to introduce cultural arts to California schools.
In her later years, June Walker Rogers was a founding member of the Theater Artists Workshop of Westport and a member of the National League of American Pen Women.
June was married to Tony-nominated lyricist Davis Rogers, who passed away in 2013. The couple shared two daughters, Dulcy Rogers Bader and Amanda Rogers. Dulcy is married to actor Diedrich Bader (Outsourced and The Drew Carry Show), and Amanda is the ex-wife of Groucho Marx impersonator Frank Ferrante.
June Walker Rogers is survived by her daughters, son-in-law, and four grandchildren: Lucy, Sebastian, Dashiell, and Ondine.
