Furthermore, according to a story published on August 6, 2021, in WTAJ, Kelsi had a conversation about her inspiration and her everyday decision to choose "love and light" over hate with Rebecca Petner of Studio 814.
Talking about her TikTok videos, Bergmann said,
“I started doing TikTok to make people happy — lift depression, anxiety, just help them through their days.”
She went on to say that she has heard cruel, hurtful remarks all of her life. She further said,
“Being 6’5” and not looking the ‘norm’ I’ve been getting hate the majority of my life so I use this platform to help educate and bring awareness to people that are struggling with being bullied online.”
However, on September 20, Friday, word spread that Bergmann had died. Little was known about what had truly happened, but rumor kept spreading over social media, worrying her fan base.
After that, her page was filled with comments from people wondering about her status, with some people being convinced that she had passed away. It all happened after another Pennsylvanian woman, named Kelci, died suddenly.
A dear friend of the influencer accidentally caused many to mistakenly think that Kelsi Bergmann had passed away when she posted heartfelt videos lamenting Kelci's passing. After this, the videos went viral.
Ghana Celebrities claimed on their September 21 report that along with videos, Kelsi Bergmann's upset friend, Debbie A, also uploaded a post on TikTok that read:
“How do you say goodbye to a piece of your heart? How do we go on never speaking to you again? How do we go on never hearing that amazing laugh. I miss you my friend. I love you my forever sister. Until we met again. #kelci.”
However, later in a video, Kelsi eventually addressed the claims and stated that she was still alive and well. She further clarified the confusion and reassured her fans that everything was fine.
