Dominican influencer Carol Acosta, also known as Killadamente on social media, died at the age of 27 on January 3, 2025. The influencer's sister, Kathyan, took to social media to announce the news of her death, according to Marca.

She revealed that it was during a family dinner when the mother of two choked on food, which led to her death. A GoFundMe fundraising campaign has since been set up for funeral services and the social media personality’s children.

Kathyan told followers that Killadamente was at a New York restaurant on January 3, 2025, when she choked on her food. She reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest before passing away. In an Instagram story, Kathyan shared a selfie of herself with Carol and wrote that she will always love her, as she added "rest in peace my sister."

“I love you sister and I will always love you. I give thanks to God for giving me a sister like you with a big heart. Rest in peace my sister,” she wrote.

According to the Irish Mirror, Carol, who had two children, was pregnant with her third child at the time of her death. Killadamente had announced her pregnancy to her fans in July 2024.

The influencer, who was 27 years old at the time of her death, was best known for her self-love and positive body image messages. She would often share her love for fashion with her followers on her Instagram account, where she has over 6.5 million followers.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up in the name of Killadamente, whose real name is Carol Acosta by Elizabeth Acosta. The fundraising campaign had set the goal to reach $26,000, and at the time of writing this article, it had raised $21,393 through 1,200 donations. The top donation of $500 was made by Carim Abunabaa.

The description of the fundraising campaign stated that "at her young age," the influencer had helped "thousands of people through her work." It also requested that people help the influencer's family to give "her a farewell as she deserves."

The GoFundMe page confirmed that the money would cover funeral expenses and would also be used by her family and children to help them "overcome this great loss."

“The family and their children [who] can overcome this great loss and the void that Carol is leaving in our hearts today,” it added.

Just one day before her passing, Killadamente took to social media to showcase her outfit and makeup, as she went on to call herself one of "God's favorites." She said that she "always thought God had his favorites" because of people who "eat and don't get fat."

“But looking at me properly, are you telling me, someone who has no extensions and has not gone in for any cosmetic surgery when I’m looking like this! I’m on that list of favorites and no one’s going to convince me otherwise,” she said.

Carol Acosta has two children, one-year-old Reina and four-month-old Legend. No additional details of her latest pregnancy were shared by her family at the time f writing this article. She had taken to social media in 2024 to share that she had experienced a spiritual awakening and had given up drugs to become more faithful in religion.

“I repented, I died, I was born again. And my brothers and sisters I am now proudly free from sin. God forgave me and it feels so good to be free from the anxiety and depression that used to force me to take drugs and do things I didn't want to do," she said, according to the Express.

The GoFundMe fundraiser was open for patrons at the time of writing this article. Specific details regarding the funeral arrangement were not made public at the time of writing this article.
