On November 26, a claim surfaced on TikTok that popular Instagram comedian MK Slatt has passed away. Posted by “dark humor expert” @dankyunderground, it featured a 21-second reel showing a few of Slatt’s famous antics and was headlined:
“Instagram comedian MK Slatt passes away at the age of 23. Further investigation is still processing.”
Captioned “RIP MK Slatt," the post garnered severe traction earning 467,100 views, 37,700 reactions, 1761 comments, and 13,900 shares, at the time of publishing this article. Lady Harmony’s Better Than Good To Me played in the background.
For the unversed, MK Slatt is an Instagram personality who makes content on situational comedy such as constantly altering characters and real-life scenarios.
While the TikTok claim remains unverified, MK Slatt’s close friend and fellow Instagram artist Mr On My Kidz (@reggiebaybee7414) refuted the rumor in the comment section of the comedian’s last post on Instagram, by writing, “He not dead y’all.” Dated April 8, 2023, it showed Slatt receiving an award for earning 1 million YouTube subscribers.
Not only that but less than 24 hours ago, @reggiebaybee7414 also shared a video post on the platform demanding MK Slatt’s release from prison. Sharing an old reel of them performing together, he captioned the post:
“How N**gas Be Tellin On Each Other When They Say You Gettin Life In Prison. Free My Lil Brudda @mk.slatt.”

MK Slatt is a comedian, rapper, and entertainer. He was born Marquel Holmes in September 2000. He is based in Center Point, Birmingham, Alabama, and has over 1.5 million followers on Instagram (@mk.slatt) where he last posted in April 2023.
Also known as Slimeball MK, he has a popular YouTube account with more than 1.21 million subscribers where he has amassed over 309 million total views. He began creating comedy content on social media in 2018, beginning with Facebook where his “They bought me a new car” video went viral with over 1 million views in three months.
His skits of mocking former high school athletes who wanted to become thugs after graduation and his former prison mates after their release also gained popularity online.
In December 2023, Rolling Out reported that Slatt was arrested by the Leeds Alabama Police Department. He was charged with drug and weapon possession, alongside four others as part of an Alabama state narcotics investigation in Irondale.
He was also charged with two counts of alleged drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of paraphernalia. Back then, it was reported that he was being held on a bond $206,000 at the Jefferson County Jail. The others arrested include Markell Felder, Amber Rozell, Kiara Williams, and Markerris Holmes.
Ahead of his arrest, MK had dropped a freestyle gospel drill song titled, Demon Smacker. In this track, he reportedly documented his life's struggle from sinful ways to the path of Jesus Christ the Lord.
