Noah Galle, a 20-year-old TikToker from Florida, crashed his BMW at 150 mph into an SUV and killed six people on January 27, 2022. After almost three years, he was given a sentence of 12 years for the incident. However, as part of a plea agreement, Galle avoided a possible 55-year sentence by entering a guilty plea to six counts of vehicular murder.
Al Johnson, the chief assistant state attorney for West Palm Beach, stated that the families of the victims were in favor of the agreement, with some saying they did not want a prison term. Noah Galle avoided a trial in his case on Monday, January 6, after receiving a reduced sentence due to the plea deal.
Noah Galle entered a guilty plea to six charges of vehicular homicide and will be imprisoned for 12 years and 180 days. The 20-year-old is also required to complete a victim impact panel, 800 hours of community service, and seven more years of probation after his present term. In addition, his license will be suspended for three years and he will need to do a 12-hour driving course.
Noah Galle’s father is a famous lawyer
According to The Palm Beach Post’s January 10 report, Noah Galle, a resident of Wellington, is the son of well-known local lawyer Craig Galle. As per the same source, 20-year-old Noah Galle frequently uploaded videos of himself driving at extremely high speeds to TikTok. He even offered viewers $25 if they could accurately predict the speed at which he had been traveling.
The same report stated that according to investigations, Galle had been recording speeding videos for Instagram and TikTok for a long time. Police discovered a video of him traveling up to 182 miles per hour. According to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office investigators, he hit 151 mph just before crashing into the Nissan Rogue SUV which was at only a fourth of his speed.
Court documents show that Noah Galle enjoyed filming himself driving the BMW M5, for which he paid over $100,000 in cash, fast on local roads and Interstate 95. However, whether Galle was recording on the night of the crash on State Road 7 west of Delray Beach is not mentioned in his arrest report.
Galle had help from a group of well-known lawyers, including Michelle Susaker, a criminal defense attorney from West Palm Beach. His expression of contrition was read out in court by defense lawyer Liz Parker. As per the same outlet, she said:
"There's not a day goes by that Noah doesn't think about his actions and what impact they have had on so many lives. He wishes every day that he had died in the accident and not the victims."
On the other hand, according to a report published by Latin Times on January 10, Chief Assistant State Attorney Alan Johnson provided a statement from the relatives of the victims that read:
"The victims' families have written to us that they did not object to this plea. Some of them didn't even want him to go to jail at all. One wanted us to drop the case entirely. What is the proper sentence in a case like this? No amount of prison time will bring the victims back to their families. We feel this is an appropriate resolution. This case is a tragedy."
Along with the jail sentence, Circuit Judge Sherri Collins also ordered Noah Galle to attend collision victim impact panels, do 800 hours of community service, and produce a film promoting safe driving.
The names of the victims of the collision were later revealed. They were Mirlaine Julceus, 45; Remize Michel, 53; Marie Louis, 60; Michel Saint, 77; Filaine Dieu, 46; and Vanice Percina, 29. On January 27, 2022, they were carpooling from the farm where they were working when Noah Galle, who was 17 at the time, hit their Nissan Rogue from behind.
The victims' family members did not show up for the court on Monday.
