According to the news outlet, Sabrina Duran Montero was in the Padre Hurtado region, at the intersection of Alberty Blest Ganna and Primera Transversal, when her car was attacked by more than one masked assailant. Later, they gunned her down, and several rounds of shots were fired. Her car was found burned to the ground a few miles from the scene of her shooting, in the Quilicura region.
First responders quickly arrived on the scene, and she was rushed to the local Sapu Santa Rosa hospital, where she was pronounced dead from seven gunshot wounds. As per Daily Mail, she was on her way to a nail salon.
As soon as the news of her death went viral on social media, followers united to mourn the loss.
Sabrina Duran Montero was a convicted drug trafficker
According to HITC, 24-year-old Sabrina Duran Montero was not only a TikTok star but also a convicted drug trafficker in Chile. In fact, she was arrested in March 2022, along with her brothers, for running a drug ring. She tried to escape, but the police managed to catch her.
Later, she was sentenced to prison on charges of collection, distribution, and sale of illicit substances, from where she was released last month.
Her nickname, ‘Ina, the Narco Queen’ was a short form of ‘narcoreina,’ a portmanteau of narcotics and Sabrina. However, her social media personality was in stark contrast to who she was in real life.
The single mother of one had over 444,000 followers on TikTok, where she constantly posted content on makeup tutorials, dance videos, music clippings, unveiling luxury brand items, and more. She has been an influencer since 2021 and has posted content in both English and Spanish.
As per HITC reports, Sabrina Duran Motero’s last post on the social media platform was only a day before her murder, in which she featured wearing jeans and a black top and showed some brand-new beauty products. She also has over 86,000 followers on Instagram. All existing social media accounts of Sabrina Duran Montero have been made private after her death.
Interestingly, Montero was supposed to serve the remaining three years of her sentence on assisted probation, which was cut short by her tragic death.
Meanwhile, police are investigating whether her murder is linked to gang activity and her drug trafficking past. Speculation has it that there was another women-led gang in the same zone where Sabrina operated, and they may have killed her to settle scores.
