Detroit rapper Casada Aaron Sorrell, aka Sada Baby, was reportedly arrested around 4 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, on an outstanding 2023 warrant. This occurred after he was stopped by the police for having tinted windows on his car.
According to a Pitchfork article published in March 2020, Sada Baby listened to YoungBloodz, Eastside Chedda Boyz, Ying Yang Twins, Street Lord’z, and Soulja Boy growing up. The rapper started making rap music in his early twenties. Sada initially released his music on YouTube.
He was a featured artist on Detroit rapper Danny Mellz’s 2016 track Megaman X. In 2017, Sada released his debut mixtape, Skuba Sada, where the rapper collaborated with other artists, including Oba Rowland, Cammy Bands, Motown Ty, ShredGang Mone, Eastside Reup, and Jon Boi. The mixtape also featured Sada's rendition of Mark Morrison's Return of the Mack.
In late 2017, Sada Baby released D.O.N.: Dat One N*gga featuring Motown Ty and Ashley Sorrell.

His breakthrough single Bloxk Party followed a year later, featuring Detroit rapper Drego. However, Sada Baby reportedly did not make much from the collaboration, as he said in the Pitchfork interview:
"I had the biggest song in Detroit, No. 2 song on urban radio, I was doing streams, but I didn’t get to see any of that money."
Sada's 2019 collaborative mixtape Bartier Bounty was released under Asylum Records. The mixtape had contributions from Ashley Sorrell and Hoodrich Pablo Juan. He dropped his fourth mixtape Whoop Tape in the same year.
Sada Baby's most noted collaboration was with Nicki Minaj on Whole Lotta Choppas remix in 2020. The Detroit rapper also entered the Billboard 200 charts with his 2020 mixtape Skuba Sada 2. Sada released his following projects The Lost Tapes and Bartier Bounty 3 in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
Police found possible "illegal contraband" in Sada Baby's truck
According to the Sterling Heights Police Department, an officer patrolled the area along Mound Road on Thursday when he spotted a black Ram truck with tinted windows at the traffic stop.
Upon checking the vehicle’s license, the officer identified the registered owner as Casada Sorrell, who was wanted from a previous arrest. The rapper was the only individual present in the car at the time of arrest. The officer also noticed alleged "illegal contraband" in Sada’s truck. The police department said:
"That contraband was recovered and secured as evidence, and charges are pending further investigation."
As per court documents obtained by Fox 2 Detroit, Sada was charged in June 2023 for allegedly driving for three years without any license. The warrant was issued in October of last year. After Thursday’s arrest, Sada Baby was booked into Macomb County Jail. A $200 bond was imposed on the rapper’s previous warrant, which was paid, and he was released from jail.
Fox 2 Detroit reported that Sada Baby has a scheduled court appearance on January 24 at 8:30 a.m. The rapper took to Instagram to share his mugshot and address his arrest:
"Been outta jail two whole days ago was courtside last night kickin game wit my Big Dogs. Super good"
He said the police arrested him because of his truck's tinted windows.
