Who is Sean Chiplock and what did he do? Allegations against Zelda voice actor explored as he issues response 

American voice actor Sean Chiplock, popularly known for voicing Revali in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has faced resurfaced grooming accusations. X user @awryval claimed Chiplock had a virtual interaction with her friend Casper, who was a 15-year-old trans boy at the time.

The user shared several screenshots that supposedly contained Casper’s journals detailing the incident and some chat receipts on July 2. @awryval claimed her friend was not on the internet anymore, thus, she was sharing the story on behalf of Casper. The chat logs are dated back to 2013, as seen recorded in the screenshots.

Chiplock has faced allegations of sending explicit messages to a 14-year-old several times over the past few years. However, he denied the claims throughout. Following @awryval's tweets reiterating the grooming accusations, Sean Chiplock shared his response:

"Every year, I am forced to revisit this (and the person who began it all), laying out EVERY detail, because my literal career is on the line."

The 34-year-old voice actor added:

"EVERY year it is debunked.."

However, after Chiplock denied the allegations, an X account by the name of Casper quote tweeted @awryval's tweet thread, asserting he was the person in question and confirmed the claims:

"I’m the Casper in these logs. I’m choosing to come forward to add credibility to these allegations and to say that I stand by the claims made in my original journal written in 2014. Sean Chiplock is a creep."

Sean Chiplock accused of sending unsolicited inappropriate messages to a minor

@awryval said her friend, Casper and Chiplock first exchanged words on the website FurAffinity — an online community for art promotions, commissions, music, and stories. Casper and the voice actor purportedly spoke on FA notes regarding issues with an artist they commissioned. Following their conversation, Chiplock allegedly sent the 15-year-old a friend request on Skype with a questionable first text that read:

"Is this the part where I awkward type an erotic RP paragraph and then send n*des while asking for free art? Or am I doing this furry thing wrong?"

Casper supposedly wrote in his journal that the message made him "vaguely uncomfortable" but he responded nonetheless, thinking Chiplock's message could be a joke. However, he claimed Chiplock's behavior got more unusual as their discussion progressed. Within an hour of messaging on Skype, the voice actor allegedly sent Casper audio clips of him making "lewd noises".

Casper wrote Sean Chiplock also inquired about his gender identity, sexual orientation, and another indecent question related to intimate activities, which ultimately led the 15-year-old to end their conversation.

Elsewhere in the supposed journal, Casper wrote:

"I've deleted the audio files he sent to me, otherwise I'd consider making it a legal issue, because I am a minor (15 years of age) and he's a grown man. Even if I see the case as lacking in terms of law, I feel that it's important to expose this guy for who he is."

Casper added:

"I'm confident in the fact that I'm not alone in this, and I'm prepared to try my best to deal with whatever comes my way."

Sean Chiplock passed on his response to Casper's claims in a thread of tweets. He wrote:

"I refuse to continue to entertain an oft-repeated, long outdated, always "on behalf of another" accusation stemming from a community where a literal groomer CONTINUES to manipulate and harass their victims."

Chiplock, who is known for voicing characters in Japanese video games and animes, claimed those who worked with him, have investigated the allegations, and concluded:

"That is not how I act. That is not how I behave."

Chiplock called the alleged victim in question "incredibly toxic" and "vindictive", adding he is bearing the repercussions of associating with that person over a decade later. He wrote:

"I hope I can use that lesson to caution others about who - or what - they associate themselves with online."

Sean Chiplock asserted at the end:

"I did not groom a minor, and never have. Any claim otherwise is patently false."

However, after Chiplock dismissed the matter, X user @Casper_Kerrivan said the alleged conversation between him and the voice actor took place in August 2013, while he was still 14. Casper wrote he turned 15 in December of that year, three days after writing his journal on this event. He explained:

"I am amending my statement for the sake of accuracy."

Casper mentioned Sean Chiplock's X username and wrote he sent him:

"unsolicited s*xual voice clips and asked me invasive questions about m*st*rbation."

After Casper's confirmation of the accusations, Chiplock directly addressed him in a separate tweet, wanting to apologize for his behavior, despite initially opposing all claims.

Casper further quote-tweeted Chiplock and cleared he did not wish to engage with the thread anymore as it brought up his past trauma.
