A photo of Luigi Mangione, the suspected shooter of Brian Thompson, has drawn attention after his December 9 arrest at a Pennsylvania McDonald's. Released by Altoona Police, the image shows Luigi in a blue sweatshirt and jeans.
Netizens noticed a wet spot on his jeans, sparking speculation about whether he wet himself during the arrest.
On December 11, the Facebook page Grandmas Sew Sweet Designs shared a screenshot of a blog on Vinnie Politan's Personal Group, which shed some light on the pants Luigi wore in the viral photo:
"Vinny, the jeans Luigi Mangione is wearing, are called “Wet Jeans; “he did not p*e himself. This is a pair on there site."
According to the blog, a brand called Wet Pants Denim makes jeans with wet spots to make it look like the person wearing it soiled their pants. Netizens soon took to the comments to share their reaction to the information.
People disapproved of this fashion trend, wondering why anyone would want to make it look like they wet their pants. Some called it "ridiculous" or "stupid" fashion.
Some believed these pants act as a cover-up for when an individual actually soils their pants. Few others joked about the jeans and called Luigi a trendsetter for wearing those jeans.
Others jokingly said it wasn't the wet denim but Luigi did soil his pants.
Luigi Mangione's photo in apparent wet pants goes viral
X user @HustleBitch reposted Luigi Mangione's photo in aupposedly wet denim on December 10, asking others if they noticed something.
As many responded with their speculations that the 26-year-old suspect might have soiled his denim, one user wrote that’s how designer jeans are being made nowadays. Similar to ripped or torn jeans, denim pants with a darker patch around the crotch area to make it look wet are also becoming a fashion trend.
One Facebook user commented on Grandmas sew sweet designs' post, noting back problems can affect one's ability to control the urinal flow from their bladder, resulting in incontinence.
Luigi Mangione reportedly underwent surgery earlier this year due to his back pain. In an alleged x-ray image that surfaced online, three apparent screws could be seen being attached to Luigi's lower spine after the surgery.
The sole reason behind Luigi Mangione's alleged killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is yet to be known. However, people speculate it has to do something with Luigi's longstanding back problem and its medical expenses which were likely affected by medical insurance companies such as UHC.
