Who is Wes Watson? Netizens react as gym fight video goes viral

A video of fitness coach and motivational speaker Wes Watson recently went viral, in which he could apparently be seen hitting another individual at the gym. Clips capturing the incident have been circulating all across social media.

Wes later took to Instagram on December 30, 2024, and shared a video of himself with a caption that provided his perspective on the incident. According to Wes, a man, who he referred to as a "hater," came to the gym to "test" him. He further wrote:

"He was AT LEAST a foot taller than me and not some normal lookin dude. He was a STREET LOOKING MFER. I TRIED to talk em out of the FIGHT but he insisted and it did NOT go as he planned. This was COMPLETE SELF DEFENSE."

Watson further continued that the individual was "badly injured" and the gym authorities called the cops as well as an ambulance. A netizen reacted and said:

"Fake 'alpha male' Wes Watson beats up man who allegedly has special needs."

"Everyone's favorite scammer, Wes Watson, allegedly beats up a special needs man after inviting any of his "haters" to come to his gym and fight him," commented another user.

"Blatant assault. F*ck Wes a real alpha doesn’t do that," added a tweet.

"The only person claiming Wes is hard is Wes," wrote another platform user.

For those unaware, Wes Watson is a fitness coach and also has a long history with the prison system. According to a London Real article dated March 2020, he was introduced to the criminal world at quite a young age.

By the time he turned 14, Wes, who was born on November 19, 1983, also reportedly began dealing weed. In April 2023, The US Sun published an article about Wes, according to which his time in prison inspired him to start a podcast. According to the outlet, Wes also made appearances in a TV show named Hooked On The Look as well as a film named The Colony.

Wes Watson has previously received a ten-year prison sentence

As aforementioned, the 41-year-old fitness trainer is not new to the prison system. He had reportedly received a ten-year prison sentence for being a marijuana dealer. He was convicted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury, robbery, and burglary among others.

After being released from prison in 2018, Wes apparently decided to follow a different path in life. In 2019, he got married to tattoo artist Valerie, as per The US Sun article. Back then they were co-parenting Valerie's two sons: Wolfie and Xavier. The then couple, however, got divorced a few years later in 2022.

On the website of Watson Fit, Wes further spoke about his transition from prison life to his current state. His website bio, which explains his vision reads:

I built this website to share what I’ve learned on my journey to becoming the best individual I can be in every area. It’s my mission to help you succeed and master the areas of life you’re aiming to build up."

Wes also has quite a strong following on social media. On Instagram, his official account has about 911K followers, as of January 7, 2025.
