According to a statement by the Mesa Police Department, the incident occurred on December 19, 2024, around 8:30 p.m. at the Walmart located on South Stapley Drive. Wolfie Kahletti allegedly took a can of Hot Shot Ultra Bed Bug and Flea Killer from the store shelf without paying for it and proceeded to spray the pesticide on various food items available for purchase.

He captured the act on video, including his face and the pesticide can, before uploading the footage online. Mesa Police confirmed Kahletti's arrest through a blog post, stating,

“On December 21, 2024, the Mesa Police Department arrested 27-year-old Charles Smith in connection with a reckless social media post involving the spraying of pesticides on produce and other food items at a Mesa Walmart.”

Walmart immediately removed the affected items to ensure customer safety. Wolfie was charged with introducing poison, criminal damage, theft, and endangerment.

Kahletti's video was met with widespread outrage. Social media users criticized his actions. Some users also advised others to rinse their produce before consumption to avoid health risks.

In one instance, Wolfie Kahletti reportedly placed a dead pigeon in a fryer at a fast-food restaurant. Some of his videos appear staged, but others, like the Walmart incident, have had real-world consequences.

Wolfie Kahletti described himself as a "tycoon creator" and "supreme villain" on his TikTok profile. He claimed to earn $6,000 to $10,000 per month from his pranks. However, the Walmart incident has escalated public scrutiny of his actions, with many questioning the safety and ethics of such stunts.

After being read his rights, Wolfie Kahletti admitted that his actions could harm others, potentially causing illness or hospitalization. He is currently in custody, with further investigations ongoing. Authorities revealed that Kahletti also has an outstanding warrant in Tempe and a history of arrests for shoplifting, theft, and making false reports.

Walmart confirmed that all affected produce was immediately removed and disposed of following the incident. A spokesperson emphasized their commitment to customer safety, thanking the Mesa Police Department for their swift action.
