In light of Republican candidate Donald Trump's election win on November 6, Candance Owens expressed her interest in seeing the upcoming episode of The View. The conservative political commentator supported the Republican candidate this election, while the hosts of The View supported the Democratic Party.

On election day, Owens took to X to post:

"I’ve never wanted to watch The View more in my entire life. When does it come on?"

Owens' remarks, which received over 2.9 million views, seemingly resonated with several netizens. One user greeted the post with "Whoopie," which could also be taken as a pun on The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

Several netizens shared Owens' sentiment, adding they were looking forward to the hosts getting upset about the Republican candidate's win.

"We were literally just saying this they are about to UPSET," one person tweeted.
"Great idea. I’m definitely going to tune in tomorrow," another person added.
"I have a feeling The View’s ratings will be the best they’ve ever had tomorrow," another user commented.
"Me neither, but I’ll watch the view along with you tomorrow if I must," someone else wrote.

Others claimed they would vote for Candace Owens if she ran for president.

"Rotf! Same. Same. lol I would absolutely Vote you as our FIRST, BLACK president! Candace. You were what started me on this information journey and I am so greatly proud to say, I woke up this year and I’m glad you were part of that awakening. Thank you for being honest!" someone commented.
"Sorry Kamala, Candace will be the 1st Female President," another person wrote.
"I would love to see you as part of the Trump administration, Candace. Payback for all of the stuff you went through fighting to expose the truth. Kudos. It’s been an amazing 9 years and you were a huge part of the movement," another user tweeted.

The View hosts have often criticized Donald Trump

The hosts of ABC's The View often criticized Donald Trump during the election. Co-host Sunny Hostin condemned him after a guest comedian referred to Puerto Rico as “a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean” during his New York campaign rally on October 27.

Hostin alluded to the Republican candidate being "trash," saying trash collection day was on November 5.

"We don’t like what was said about Puerto Rico. And we know how to take the trash out, Donald Trump. Trash that has been collecting since 2016, and that’s you, Donald Trump. And finally, my fellow Puerto Ricans, trash collection day is November 5, 2024. Don’t forget it!” she added.

Fellow host Whoopi Goldberg also criticized podcaster Joe Rogan after he claimed The View acted “in such a favorable light” towards Trump when he recently hosted him on his podcast on October 26.

During the episode, the two spoke about the latter's appearance on The View over a decade ago. Rogan also claimed the talk show's hosts referred to the Republican candidate as "our friend."

Whoopi Goldberg clarified Rogan's remarks in an episode following the podcast. She said that her fellow co-host at the time, Barbara Walters, referred to Trump as "my friend" while Goldberg said nothing. She added that the show hosted him in 2011, not 2015, as Rogan had claimed in his podcast.

“So, Barbara was her usual polite self as she was with every guest. But did I look warm and fuzzy? Was that a warm and fuzzy welcome for him? But because I respect Barbara, she said be polite to guests no matter what. And for the most part I got through it, I did it, like I do now,” Goldberg said.

She also played the clip of the 2011 episode, where she called Trump's focus on then-president Barack Obama's birth certificate the "biggest pile of dog mess" she'd heard.

Following the clip, Goldberg added that the show always hosted people of differing views. However, she said she did not like Trump.

"I have not been a fan of his. I don’t like how he talks to us, I don’t like how he talks to the nation. I [did] not really have much to say until he started running for president. [But] then [in 2011]…my face said everything I needed to say.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, another The View co-host and former aide of the Republican candidate, recently revealed she voted for the Democratic Party for the first time this year.

Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election, crossing the 270 electoral votes needed. He has 277 electoral votes at the time of this article and is expected to become the 47th US President.
