Fans trend 'Apologize to G-Dragon' following Yonhap TV's recent interview footage of the idol talking about his drug scandal
Given the recent accusations regarding the idol's possible drug usage and his voluntary participation in the police investigation, the idol had to take a drug test to prove his innocence.
On November 21, the Korean media outlet, Yonhap TV, released an interview footage of G-Dragon that brought many fans to tears. In the footage, the idol is seen talking about how he found it hard to stay positive during a time when the majority of the industry accused him of drug usage. He eventually started to tear up talking about the same.
When discussing the drug controversy, the interviewer asked the idol if he wanted to say something to himself. Here's what G-Dragon answered,
"This might be something too personal but when there are difficult things that happen, I always say to myself, 'It's okay, you're doing great. Don't blame yourself as if casting a spell, but since the articles (about the drug suspicion) was released today, to be honest, I wasn't able to tell myself anything for the past few days. So, I want to say sorry because I didn't say anything to myself."
He also added that he doesn't advise people to involve themselves with drugs since it isn't the healthiest route.
"I don't know how people think (about celebrities), but if I were to share my thoughts, I do not do that. Personally, I find different ways to relieve the emptiness or the stress from time to time. I've been finding my own ways. However, the path to that should never involve drugs. I have not used drugs."
G-Dragon, then, conveyed his apologies for the concerns and worries he might've caused his fans. He added that he also wishes to return to the industry soon.
"As a public figure and entertainer, I feel sorry for causing concerns with my recent actions. I deeply regret any worries I may have caused. Please don't be overly concerned, and I hope you can observe the outcome. Afterward, I aspire to return to my original self, back to my original position as an artist, and eagerly look forward to the day when I can return with a smile as a singer. I hope we can spend the remaining time together with that positive anticipation. Thank you, and I love you." (Translation and Source via Allkpop)
In addition to his confession, G-Dragon's legal representative, Kim Soo-hyun, also released a statement following the negative result of the idol's drug test. The statement conveyed that his legal team would be taking charges against those who violated the idol's privacy on the basis of defamation, malicious slander, false rumors, insults, etc.
Following several positive additions to the idol's innocence with regard to his drug controversy, fans have been celebrating the same.
Fans have also been trending the issue on X, demanding the rightful and deserved apology towards G-Dragon for everything he's undergone after the false accusations.
