Digital artist Denise Manami is trending on X after she shared a post about seemingly committing suicide due to online hate, trolls, and bullying on July 31, 2024. The hashtag #RestInPeaceDeniseManami is trending on the platform, with people sharing their take on the serious issue of cyberbullying.

On July 31, Manami tweeted an image with a note and the caption "A farewell (?) letter from me. ( ^ ^ )ゞ".
“This is an actual farewell to everyone. I know this is some terrible and heart-breaking news that I’m gonna share but I hope no one gets affected by my disappearance. Some of you probably already guessed what I’m trying to do. I’m gonna “attempt” again and see what will happen. I been harassed online and insulted to the point that my mental can’t be saved one bit,” the letter read.
Denise Manami also mentioned two people, Xavier and Diano, in her letter, supposedly holding them responsible for her alleged cyber abuse. Further, she wrote that the "doxxing, insults," and "one disgusting picture" led her to the attempt.
On August 1, hours after Manami posted the letter, her X account was allegedly retrieved by her best friend, Alia. A thread posted on her account claimed that Manami had passed away. The posts mentioned that emergency services reached Denise's house within 10 minutes and had to break in as most of the doors and windows were closed.
The entire saga led to the trend of #RestInPeaceDeniseManami. While most used this opportunity to send their respects to Manami, a couple of users alleged that the incident was fake.
Denise Manami's account is allegedly being handled by her best friend, Alia, since her cryptic post
On August 1, a series of posts on Denise Manami's account alleged that the user had passed away. The first tweet on her account after her alleged suicide note was claimed to have been posted by her best friend, Alia.
The post claimed that Alia had been texting Denise for a while without any response. She added that she was four hours away from her friend in another city. Alia also attached alleged screenshots of her conversation with Denise Manami on the tweet. It said:
"Logged in to Denise’s account after trying to call her atleast around 30 times but there’s no ringing. It’s been an hour and i’m worried for her! 😢 I’m quite far away from her city and it’ll take atleast hours to get back to her. She’s inactive and i dunno what to do - Alia"
In her next follow-up tweet, Alia alleged that emergency services had reached Denise Manami's place within 10 minutes and had to break in as most of the doors and windows were locked.
In the same thread, she mentioned that Manami was found "hanging in the air, and her body was cold" and "her pulse wasn’t there anymore." The post alleged that the user was dead. She also added that she was aware that Denise Manami allegedly had multiple mental health issues.
In another follow-up tweet, Alia said Denise would be taken to "one of the funeral homes," and she would be visiting her best friend once she reaches the city. She signed off by mentioning that the thread was "by Alia" and called Manami a "ray of sunshine" in everyone's lives.
Since the aforementioned tweet, there has been no new activity on Denise Manami's account. However, her alleged suicide note is now pinned on her account, and the current user of the account has reposted some of her older posts since then.
Before posting her alleged farewell letter, Manami had shared some screenshots allegedly from a user named "Xavier" on July 31 that demonstrated alleged cyber abuse meted towards her. The authenticity of the posts has not been verified as of writing.
It is worth noting that Manami also mentioned a "Xavier" in her alleged farewell post, claiming that they "won" by cyberbullying her into attempting suicide again. Users have been wondering whether the entire incident is fake or real, with no information to verify the same.
