Netizens recently came together to claim that Jim Carrey and Ariana Grande have been secretly dating for years. While it remains unclear who started the trend, fans began linking the two stars on TikTok in the first week of December 2024.

On December 2, 2024, the YouTube channel @CelebriteaBlinds shared a video alleging that the singer cheated on her boyfriend and Wicked co-star Ethan Slater with Carrey. The video cited "Blind Items" (a gossip story that details an incident without giving out the identities of the people involved) and claimed that the two have "hooked up multiple times in the past."

The YouTuber alleged that Grande also "hooked up with Jimmy Fallon." The "Blind Item," which was reported on November 25, 2024, read:

"This A list singer/ sometimes actress may be embracing her relationship publicly, but she's back to hanging out with the creepy north of the border actor and continuing their strange relationship."

Although Jim Carrey is seemingly being linked to Ariana Grande because of the video and TikTok claims, it is crucial to note that these are merely speculations.

Ariana Grande's seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, was inspired by Jim Carrey's 2004 film

Carrey and the Into You singer know each other and have previously worked together. Ariana Grande first confessed to having a childhood crush on the actor in a 2015 interview on Live with Kelly and Michael.

"My childhood crush, my lifelong crush, it kind of all goes together. It’s Jim Carrey. I love him so much. I met him, and like, cried," the singer said.

Further speaking, the Thank You, Next artist continued to describe her first time meeting Carrey. She explained that despite being a "chill" person usually, she was "kind of nervous" and ended up crying. Ariana also described the comedian as "over-the-top nice and perfect."

According to a January 2014 article by Pop Crush, Grande, in an Instagram story, revealed that when she was in 4th grade, she made her AIM username jimcarreyfan42.

Her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine (2024), was inspired by Carrey's 2004 film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The singer announced the project on January 17, which also happens to be Carrey's birthday. While promoting the album, Grande's @sweetner Instagram account shared a quote by Alexander Pope that inspired the title of the movie.

"How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot! The world forgetting by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray’r accepted. And each wish resign’d," the qoute read.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is not the only Jim Carrey movie that inspired Ariana Grande. In 2019, the singer took to her Instagram stories to reveal that she and her best friend Courtney Chipolone had matching tattoos of Carrey's iconic line from The Truman Show.

"In case I don't see ya good afternoon good evening and good night!" the tattoo read.

According to a June 2019 article by Refinery29, the comedian took to X to comment on the tattoo.

"Wow @ArianaGrande... a tattoo? Ssss’nice! ;^}" Jim Carrey wrote.

This prompted the Wicked star to reply:

"mhmm a tattoo indeed my best friend got hers rightside up and mine is upside down .... love u always always always !"

Following her appearance on Kidding, he praised Grande during the Showtime Television Critics Association tour. He described her as having a "gift" and called her singing "magical." He also mentioned that she is a "lovely person."
