Benzino, whose real name is Raymond Scott, has responded to the viral video posted by 50 Cent. In the video, Scott was seen begging his girlfriend, Ashley Bell, not to call the cops on him for reportedly hitting her. Bell recorded and originally posted it, but it went viral after the G-Unit founder reshared it on his Instagram.

In a video statement to The Shade Room on Instagram, Scott said:

“First and foremost, I wanna let everybody know that I’m okay. Alright? Second of all, I’ll let everybody know that it was a rehearsal for a Tubi movie, alright? My girl was helping me out, was doing a script reading, and that was a rehearsal for a scene from the movie, okay?”

Benzino continued by saying how he would “never ever put hands on any woman” and that he had never done it in his life. He added he wasn’t a “coward” and surely “wouldn’t do anything to hurt myself.” The 59-year-old gave a “shoutout” to people who were concerned, mentioning he was doing “okay.”

“Oh, I also wanna thank Curtis no goodlookin’. Thanks, Curtis for promoting me. Keep on promoting and posting [about] me. That’s dope. You know what I’m saying? Here post this. I’m in that gym heavy. Lifting 315. What you doing Curtis?” he asked.

Amid Benzino’s now-viral response, the internet is having diverse reactions. For instance, Instagram user @therealkerwinclaiborne commented on The Shade Room’s post and said:

So far, 50 Cent hasn’t responded to Raymond Scott’s clarification. There’s also no official confirmation about any movie featuring the latter.

Exploring Benzino’s meltdown video

On December 18, 50 Cent posted a video on his Instagram of Benzino seemingly having a meltdown.

“Benzino caught on video, by his girlfriend Ashley Bell threatening to unalive himself with a knife because she called the cops for him allegedly beating her,” 50 Cent captioned his post.

The video showed Raymond Scott lying on the floor, crying and begging on his knees. Later, he grabbed a knife and held it to his own throat, threatening to end his life. Amid his alleged manic episode, Ashley Bell was heard from behind the camera urging the former co-owner of The Source to “Stop, please, stop!” and keep the weapon aside.

Meanwhile, Benzino asked her to call the cops. But she seemingly didn’t want the situation to escalate and replied, "Give me the knife! I’ll let ’em know you’re calm. I’ll call ’em back." The clip ended at this point.

Reportedly, Benzino has been feuding with 50 Cent for a long time. The last time they made headlines was in April 2024 when the former appeared on the We In Miami podcast and claimed he would win a “boxing match” against the latter. In the same interview, Raymond Scott also took shots at 50, claiming he and Diddy were allegedly beefing about the same woman, Daphne Joy.

Cent’s longtime friend and collaborator Eminem has also feuded with the Made Men member for years. The feud began in the early 2000s when the former Almighty RSO member accused Eminem of appropriating Black culture and earning success in the hip-hop industry. This led to multiple diss track exchanges over the years.
