Multi-billionaire business magnate Elon Musk has claimed that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was convinced that Donald Trump would lose the 2024 Presidential Elections.

As per a report by News18, Elon Musk was one of the key backers of Donald Trump's presidential campaign, injecting at least $119 million. On November 20, the Tesla boss tweeted about Jeff Bezos, claiming that the Amazon founder implored people to sell their Tesla and SpaceX stocks. He wrote:

“Just learned tonight at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos was telling everyone that Donald Trump would lose for sure, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock."

The tweet has caused quite a stir on social media with people across the internet reacting to the same. Some popular comments on X are as follows:

"You should box him," a fan wrote on X.
"Jeff Bezos greenlit and spent a billion on The Rings of Power. No one should listen to him about anything for the rest of time," another said.
"Bezos is trying so hard to be cool," one user added on X.

One fan claimed that Bezos was basing his prediction on the claims of American historian Allan Lichtman.

"I bet he was really banking on modern-day oracle and self-proclaimed God, Allan Lichtman’s predictions," the netizen wrote.
"Jeff Bezos has a small "rocket"," another quipped.
"Bezos is spending too much time at the yacht club," one user announced on X.

One netizen suggested investigating the whereabouts of Bezos during the 2024 elections.

"Reality is, Amazon and Jeff Bezos should be investigated for interfering with the Election," the user opined.
"Remember when Jeff Bezos turned off Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Parler when all the social media platforms deplatformed Donald Trump to shut down the last remaining option for free speech? He’s a communist at heart," one netizen noted.

Ironically, Jeff Bezos was among the first people to congratulate Donald Trump after the 78-year-old was declared the winner of the 2024 U.S. elections.

“Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory. No nation has bigger opportunities. Wishing Donald Trump all success in leading and uniting the America we all love," he wrote in an post on X.

The Washington Post reportedly lost over 200,000 subscribers after it decided not to endorse any candidate before the 2024 United States presidential elections. On October 25, i.e., 11 days before the election day, the publication reported that an article endorsing Kamala Harris was written but not published.

The publication further stated that their owner Jeff Bezos decided to refrain from endorsing a single candidate in the election. In the wake of the decision, several editorial board members resigned and over 200,000 subscribers (both print and digital) canceled their subscriptions.

The news was also accompanied by widespread backlash from across the internet. Many posts even quoted the Washington Post's slogan, i.e., "Democracy dies in Darkness" to describe the decision. Following the criticism, Bezos wrote an opinion piece in the newspaper, explaining that the decision was taken to prevent bias from rising from social media and publications.

"No undecided voters in Pennsylvania are going to say: ‘I’m going with Newspaper A’s endorsement.’ None. What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias. A perception of non-independence. Ending them is a principled decision, and it’s the right one," he wrote.

The move was also slammed by members of the organization. For instance, board members Molly Roberts and David Hoffman reportedly stepped down from their positions soon after the move. Similarly, reporters and columnists like Ruth Marcus, Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein, and Pulitzer Prize winner Eugene Robinson lambasted the move by Bezos.
