A recent social media controversy has erupted after former President Donald Trump criticized a widely circulated image of Vice President Kamala Harris.

On September 30, 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris shared an image on X, depicting her working inside a government unit cabin on an airplane. In response, the former President reshared the photo, claiming it was "fake" and "staged."

Trump pointed out that the headphones Harris was wearing appeared not to be plugged into the cellphone displayed on her desk, casting doubt on the moment's authenticity.

"Another FAKE and STAGED photo from someone who has no clue what she is doing. You have to plug the cord into the phone for it to work!" Trump said.

However, the comment quickly drew attention, sparking many reactions across social media platforms. Many users on X responded to the former President's statement by accusing him of being the "king" of alleged photo staging.

"You are the king of staging fake photos," one wrote.
"Thank you so much for bringing up FAKE and STAGED. Let's talk about an ear BLOWN OFF by a bullet from an automatic rifle that left someone dead," another said on X.

Many users also took a sarcastic jab at the former President and suggested that he is living in an older century.

""You have to plug the cord into the phone for it to work!" Trump lives in 1987," a netizen stated.
"The fool doesn't know how anything works and who just traveled to Georgia for a photo op is now accusing someone of arranging a photo op," another commented.
"President Trump is now giving tech support to someone much younger than him. What can't this man do?!" one more said on X.

However, many users on X sided with the former President, criticizing Kamala Harris and suggesting that her actions are consistently fake and staged, including the image in question. Numerous commenters further expressed that the ongoing political battles are ultimately detrimental to the American public, who are caught in the crossfire of these disputes.

"Everything from the Kamala Harris administration is fake and staged," one said.
"As usual.. Everything she does is fake," another commented.
"Kamala is trying to act like she's doing something when she hasn't done anything to protect us for the past 3 1/2 years," a netizen stated.
"She is so busy writing on her paper with nothing on it that she forgot to plug in her headphones. Very common mistake!" one more said on X.
"Joe Biden is sleeping on a beach and Kamala Harris is cackling on a podcast while Americans are suffering. Pathetic," a netizen commented.

Neither Harris nor her office has responded to Trump's comments, but the photo continues to trend across social media.

Donald Trump aims at Kamala Harris on social media amidst election tensions

The image shared on X by Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday features her in a rust brown coat suit, complemented by her signature hairstyle. In the photo, Harris is seen writing on paper while wearing headphones, with a cup of coffee on the table.

In her tweet, she indicated that she is focused on the "ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene" and the "ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in North Carolina."

The same day, Trump took to X and accused President Biden and Vice President Harris of neglecting American citizens in various crises, including their withdrawal from Afghanistan, immigration issues at the southern border, and natural disasters in the Southern states.

"Biden and Harris abandoned Americans in Afghanistan. They sacrificed Americans to an Open Border, and now, they have left Americans to drown in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and elsewhere in the South. Under this Administration, Americans always come last, because we have “leaders” who have no idea how to lead!" Trump stated.

The claim in question stems from Americans in North Carolina suffering from the impacts of a natural disaster following Hurricane Helene. As per BBC, the hurricane brought heavy rainfall, strong winds, and flooding to various parts of the southeastern United States, including North Carolina. The hurricane has claimed at least 116 lives as of the time of writing.

Amidst all these claims and allegations, the presidential elections are expected to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
