The swoosh label's Air Force 1 model was designed by the well-known sneaker designer Bruce Kilgore as a basketball shoe in 1982. The shoe model gained attention of fans globally with its minimalistic, clean and sophisticated design.
Over time, the shoe model was accepted by sneakerheads globally as a lifestyle and streetwear silhouette. Through its unique makeovers and multiple collabs, the silhouette has maintained its pop-cultural relevance in the industry for more than four decades.
The Nike website explains the heritage as well as current-day relevance of the legendary Air Force 1 sneaker model as follows:
“Debuting in 1982 as a basketball must-have, the Air Force 1 came into its own in the '90s. Finding its rhythm in hip-hop culture, releasing limited collabs and colorways, Air Force 1 has become an iconic sneaker around the globe.”
The latest Air Force 1 "Black Royal" sneakers will be released in kids sizes and perfectly displays its value as the chameleon of sneakers. The shoe comes clad in a "Summit White/ Black/ Royal Blue" makeover. The upper of the shoe comes constructed out of leather material.
The base is clad in a summit white tumbled white hue, which can be seen accentuated on the perforated toe boxes, mesh tongues and mid panels. White hue further contrasts with the overlaid black tumbled leather overlays, which are placed on the forefoot, lacing system and heel counters.
Another hue is added into the mix with the Royal Blue being clad on the profile swooshes on both medial and lateral sides, tongue tags and the heel tabs featuring "Nike Air" branding lettering.
The look is finished off with white midsoles and black rubber outsoles. The pair is expected to be released via the e-commerce site of Nike, SNKRS app and select retailers in 2023 in grade school sizes.
