Social media users were left floored by Donatella Versace's transformation. The iconic Italian fashion designer hit the red carpet on Sunday, November 1, at The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical opening night charity gala. The event, held in support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, was hosted by the legendary singer himself.

Versace stunned on the red carpet sporting a sparkling sheer bronze mini dress with a crewneck and some intricate beadwork alongside a fringed hem and sleeves. Underneath the dress was a sleek black bodysuit. The 69-year-old luxury fashion icon also sported a pair of calf-hugging chocolate brown leather platform boots.

Despite getting plaudits for her attire, social media users were more interested in Donatella Versace's looks. Some felt like the fashion icon had undergone surgery and complimented her surgeon if this was indeed the case. One X (formerly known as Twitter) user who went by @LeeLovesBey tweeted out:

Donatella Versace was joined by a slew of celebrities at 'The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical' premiere

Donatella Versace was far from the only famous face on Sunday's premiere of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical. As Vogue Magazine reported the iconic fashion designer walked arm-in-arm with Elton John and his husband and Canadian filmmaker David Furnish at the event at West End’s Dominion Theatre.

Sir Elton John, who composed the music for the show, had a heartbreaking announcement on the star-studded occasion. The Rocketman hitmaker announced that he was not able to see his musical, only listen to it, after losing his eyesight. The singer had announced in a November Good Morning America appearence that he hadn't been able to see in the past four months due to an eye infection.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour also graced the auspicious occasion, sporting a navy blue layered color-blocked Prada outfit with a silky green trench. Wintour is often rumored to be the inspiration for Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly from the 2006 film. When asked by the BBC on the red carpet, if the movie was indicative of the fashion industry, Wintour replied:

"It's for the audience and for the people I work with to decide if there are any similarities between me and Miranda Priestly,"

Emily in Paris star Lily Collins stunned in an elegant off-shoulder Vivienne Westwood couture gown featuring a slim skirt with a thigh-high slit alongside her screenwriter husband Charlie McDowell. Bedazzled star Elizabeth Hurley sported a butterfly-inspired embroidered sheer dress from Temperley while her son Damian accompanied his mother in a monochromatic all-black look complete with a leather coat, leather pants, and boots.

Also present at the event were the iconic fashion designers Dame Zandra Rhodes and Betsey Johnson, TV personality Michelle Visage, choreographer Dame Arlene Phillips, TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney, comedian and presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg, talk show host Graham Norton, and Dracula Untold star Luke Evans among others.
