Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams created the Netflix original crime drama series Ozark, which was made by MRC Television and Aggregate Films. Marty and Wendy Byrde, a married couple who relocate their family to the Lake of the Ozarks and start working as money launderers, are portrayed in the series by Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.

Release dates for the first, second, and third seasons are as follows: July 21, 2017, August 31, 2018, and March 27, 2020. Each of the first three seasons has ten episodes. The fourth and final season of the show, consisting of 14 episodes split into two parts, was ordered in June 2020; the first part debuted on January 21, 2022, and the second on April 29, 2022.

After four engrossing seasons, Netflix's Ozark, which followed Marty Byrde and his family under the control of the Navarro cartel, finally came to an end. This time, Marty had to deal with an additional internal threat in the form of his wife Wendy's sabotage as he sought to escape the money laundering game while maintaining his family. Unfortunately, there were simply too many moving parts, resulting in Marty and his children being trapped between the dishonest FBI and the Mexicans and being unable to flee without being killed.

The arrival of Wendy's father, Nathan, and Ruth's betrayal in Season 4, Part 2, made things worse. She made the decision to take over the Byrdes' casino following Wyatt's passing and receiving her inheritance. The Byrdes came to the uncomfortable realization that nothing, not even freedom, was free as a result of this.

Ozark's season four part two events can be broken down into four parts, which are as follows:

The Byrdes Family Survived

Nathan prepared Charlotte and Jonah for a move to North Carolina by emancipating them in Part 2. The pastor believed it would be best for them to be separated from the cunning Wendy because he knew she had something to do with Ben going missing. But if Ruth didn't get his kids back, Marty threatened to tell the cartel about how she killed Javi.

Ruth was able to persuade Nathan that his true motivation for taking the teenagers was revenge on Wendy for her rebellious upbringing, rather than love. After clearing the air, they returned to Wendy and managed to have her removed from the mental health facility where Ben had previously been.

The reunited Byrdes were finally permitted to return to Chicago after the new agreement with the cartel and the feds was put in place, given that they had all recovered from the car accident at the beginning of the season and realized they were meant to be together.

The Emergence of a New Navarro Cartel

Camila traveled to the area to approve the new contract, but she was still incensed that her son Javi had been killed. Omar took the fall in prison because he wanted to prove to his sister and the rest of the world that he was a strong person and that traitors like Javi would be put to death.

But the Byrdes were solely responsible for this because they didn't want the Mexicans to know that Ruth killed Javi in retaliation for killing Darlene and Wyatt, which put an end to their heroin trade. Camila did, however, have a darker side, as she had planned a botched assassination on her own brother, who was imprisoned.

When Wendy realized it was time to choose a side, they mediated the previously mentioned agreement with the government. Omar was supposed to be moved to a different facility, but Camila's inside guard killed him instead. This allowed her to become the cartel's de facto leader without anyone realizing Omar had left.

While running the gang with Marty, just as Omar had done previously in a temporary hierarchy, she would inform the feds, allowing them to seize weapons and cash. No questions would be asked as a result. Most importantly, Camila became the most legitimate cartel boss ever after receiving shares from Clare and signing a five-year contract to supply heroin for medical research.

Ruth Met a Tragic Fate

Unfortunately, there were still some wrinkles in the alliance. At Wendy's fundraiser, where she finally received the donors she required, everything came to a head. By doing so, she would gain control of the Midwest and finally realize her aspirations. Camila did have one issue, though: the Byrdes' evidence for Javi's death didn't add up.

Having determined that Omar was not responsible, she confronted Clare, with whom Javi had arranged the heroin deal. Clare protected the Byrdes from being witnesses out of fear of threats, but acknowledged she saw Ruth kill Javi.

Camila was upset about it, so she left the gala and confronted Ruth at the trailer park. The Byrdes were unable to alert their business partner because she had already put preparations in place with her guards. Now that she was in charge of the casino, Camila didn't care that Ruth had helped them launder money because getting revenge came first. Ruth, who was in tears, acknowledged that Javi was a monster who deserved to be killed.

This was heartbreaking because Ruth had finally used her millions to renovate the property and appeared to have broken the Langmore curse. In order to aid her, she also brought Rachel back, but she passed away after burying the hatchet with Wendy over Ben.

Jonah Turned Evil

After secretly learning Ruth had left, Marty and Wendy eventually returned home with the children and publicly declared their love for one another. However, Mel, the private eye, confronted them and revealed information about Helen and then Ben. They believed they had bought him off with a job with the Chicago police, but when he returned and broke in, he discovered Ben's ashes. Turning this in as DNA evidence to expose the Byrdes was all that was necessary for him to satisfy his conscience and bring them to justice.

The episode unfortunately ended with Jonah pulling a shotgun on Mel. Mel's freedom or the safety of his family had to be his decision. When the screen went black, he pulled the trigger after his parents gave him a sadistic look.

Even though Jonah had spent years trying to avoid becoming like his parents or Charlotte, it was obvious that he had now officially stained his hands with blood as the credits rolled without the audience seeing Mel's demise. He lost his innocence as a result, and the Byrdes had a lot more cleaning to do before the show was over.
