Born on January 20, 1952, Paul Stanley is from the United States. Prior to Kiss, Stanley was a part of a local band called Rainbow, as well as Uncle Joe & Post War Baby Boom. He entered the Wicked Lester band of Gene Simmons in the 1970s via a common acquaintance. In 1972, the band produced a record that was never released publicly.
Wicked Lester broke down, and Stanley & Simmons responded to Peter Criss' Rolling Stone ad. They conducted an audition for a main guitarist shortly after hiring Criss, and Stanley advertised in the Village Voice. Ace Frehley won the band over through his performance and was virtually a great match to the team's sound. Kiss' self-titled first record was released in February 1974.
