Billionaire Peter Thiel made an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored on December 13, 2024, wherein he was asked to give his opinion on Luigi Mangione. Piers Morgan asked Thiel what he would say to people who consider Mangione a hero for allegedly shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO stating "because he said this healthcare executive is presiding over a healthcare system which kills thousands of Americans by denying them coverage."

Peter Thiel remained silent for a moment and then stuttered as he said he didn't know what to say.

“I don’t want to go into all the particulars here, but I don’t think, I don’t think there’s anything heroic about him,” Thiel said, eventually putting forth his thoughts on Luigi Mangione.

Addressing people who claim Mangione is a hero, Peter Thiel said that they should try to make an argument, stammering as he spoke.

"And I, I think this is, this is you should, you know, there may be things wrong with our healthcare system, but you have, you have to make an argument, and you have to try to find a way to convince people and and change, change it by by that, and this is, you know, this is not going to work,” Thiel said.

"Articulating certain views is always very dangerous": Peter Thiel comments on Luigi Mangione sharing his speech on Silicone Valley leaders

According to a report by The Independent, dated December 10, 2024, Luigi Mangione had reposted Peter Thiel's video on his X profile on June 6, 2024. The 26-year-old suspect in Brian Thompson's murder shared a video about Thiel sharing his perspective on a "strange phenomenon in Silicon Valley."

In the video, Thiel alleged that a lot of "great startups in Silicon Valley" seem to be operated by people suffering from a mild form of Asperger's. At the time, the former PayPal CEO said that the situation needed to be turned around and be viewed as an indictment of the whole society.

"What does it say about our society when anyone who does not suffer from Asperger’s, who is socially well-adapted, will be talked out of all of their original creative ideas before they’re even fully formed?” Thiel stated.

According to Nationwide Children's Hospital, Asperger's Syndrome is a developmental disorder and is a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

It was during his appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored that Thiel came to know about Luigi Mangione reposting a snippet from his speech about the leaders of Silicon Valley companies.

“There’s always a part of me that thinks articulating certain views is always very dangerous, and there are all these anti-free speech arguments that we should restrict speech because it’s going to trigger people in all kinds of crazy ways,” Thiel said, about Mangione reposting his speech.

Referring to his comment about Silicon Valley leaders, Thiel added that he never thought that saying something of the sort, would be "that triggering."

In other news, Peter Thiel, who has been an avid Trump supporter, told Piers Morgan that he won't have a full-time role in President-elect Donald Trump's second administration. The former PayPal CEO said that he would become crazy and depressed if he spent his entire life thinking about politics.
