The sudden and tragic death of Sarah Becker, a former cast member of the reality TV show The Real World, has profoundly saddened both her fans and colleagues.

Over the weekend, Becker's family told TMZ that she died earlier this past week, reportedly due to suicide in Illinois. As per Page Six, she moved to Illinois last year from California and wished to relocate back to California.

Fellow cast members have expressed profound sorrow over her untimely passing. Many have taken to social media to share heartfelt tributes and memories. Cynthia Roberts shared a picture of Becker on her Instagram story paying tribute to her —

"RIP Roomy. I pray there’s happiness for you on the other side," Roberts wrote.

Becker appeared in 22 episodes on the fifth season of the reality television show, The Real World. The show was first aired on May 21, 1992, and ended up running for 33 seasons.

Over the weekend, as news of Becker's tragic death broke, many took to social media to pay tribute to the star. Jeff Mariotte, an American author, shared a screenshot of Becker's Facebook post from June 14, 2024, where she wished everyone a Happy Friday. Mariotte captioned the Facebook post suggesting that Sarah Becker "added sunshine to every room she entered" —

"I saw the news today that we've lost one of everyone's favorite WildStorm folks, Sarah Becker. Even if you weren't into comics in the 90s, you might remember her from The Real World (and from the opening episode of her season, some of which was filmed in our offices and at Sarah's wild going-away party)," Mariotte wrote.

Cast member Flora Alekseyeun wrote in an Instagram post on June 23, 2024, that Sarah Becker was the "most selfless" person she knew. Alekseyeun ended the post with prayers and blessings for Becker —

"I am beyond myself and sad to just hear that my roommate Sarah died. I can’t believe this. She was the most selfless person I knew. She was always kind and helpful to everyone. I haven’t spoken to her in years and never knew she was troubled. My prayers go out to her family. RIP my roommate, my friend. May you skate with angels and never feel pain again," Alekseyeun wrote.

Another mate, Joel Benjamin, shared a number of pictures of himself with Sarah Becker on Facebook. Benjamin paid a heartfelt tribute to Becker, suggesting that she was "bubbly" and brought a smile to his face every time he saw her —

"I just found out that one on the nicest people that have ever been put in my life, especially during my impressionable ages in my life has passed away. Every time I thought of her I would always see her smile, and bubbly personality. You were loved and will be missed. RIP Sarah Becker," Benjamin wrote on Facebook.

Becker's castmate and actor, Dan Renzi, took to Instagram on Sunday night, sharing that although he had not spoken to Becker after the show, the shared experiences of all seven cast members had forged a lasting connection among them -

"The seven of us in that cast went through a bizarre, intense, and sometimes traumatic experience together, and that creates a connection between people, even when they choose not to associate with each other. I can only say it’s very sad," Renzi wrote.

A comic artist, Alé Garza also reflected on the devastating news on his Facebook page, suggesting that Sarah Becker was the one who discovered his art, and played a vital role in his development -

"Such sad news to wake up to. I’ll never forget seeing your smile as you rolled by the pit in roller skates, complementing me on my tall socks and making me blush. You were the one who discovered my art in a pile of photocopies, I owe it all to you💕 an amazing person, over the rainbow, you will be missed rest in peace Sarah Becker💕🙏🏽," Garza wrote.

As per TMZ, Sarah Becker, 52, had been struggling with mental health conditions in recent months. She also moved to Illinois to care for her ailing mother and sister. Moreover, she had a skateboarding accident, which added to her troubles.
