Netflix has officially greenlit Selling Sunset season 7, even as season 6 is set to release on May 19, exclusively on Netflix at 3 am ET. There's an abundance of Selling Sunset on the horizon, as viewers brace themselves for an explosive dose of drama, chaos, and even more luxurious real estate's.
Selling Sunset Season 7: Confirmed and Filming Updates
The filming of Selling Sunset season 7 and 6 had already begun that summer as Chrishell was the first cast member to announce it on her Instagram, she wrote
"CONGRATS to this fun lovable crazy group! #SellingSunset has been officially renewed for seasons 6&7! Filming on season 6 begins this summer! Love our dysfunctional family! And THANK YOU everyone for watching and for all the love- and even to those that hate watch us, because that’s half the fun of the show anyway honestly-ha! Thank you!"
The release date for Selling Sunset season 7 is yet to be confirmed by the official streaming platform and other cast members. However, it has been known that there is a pattern to Netflix's release of its reality show which is two seasons released in a one-year span, which may mean that we can expect season 7 later this year. Fingers crossed!
Returning and Potential Cast members
While the official cast for Season 7 has yet to be confirmed, we can expect the core members to make a comeback, including Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Mary Fitzgerald, Chrishell Stause, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, and Heather Rae-Young.
However, it's worth noting that season 6 saw the introduction of Nicole Young and Bre Tiesi, while Christine Quinn, Vanessa Villela, and Maya Vander were absent. It remains to be seen if any new additions or departures will shake up the dynamics of The Oppenheim Group in the upcoming seasons.
Ahead of season 6's premiere, drama has already started. In a May 15 interview, former cast member Christine Quinn, who starred in season five but won't return for season six, opened up about the pressure she says was put on her and other female cast members to wear revealing clothes.
"There were so many times where I would try to convince the girls, 'You're so much better than this. You don't need to be treated this way. You don't need to wear a bra and show your stomach and your boobs. You don't have to do that."
She said in an episode of Dear Media's The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast.
While Quinn almost certainly won't be back, the remainder of the cast hasn't yet been confirmed either. In March, star Heather Rae El Moussa said that she hadn't yet been asked to participate in season 7.
"Season 7 is filming right now, but I've been off maternity leave and I've been excited to get back to work and so far I have not been called back."
She added that "it's been a little frustrating" during an interview with E! News.
Heather welcomed her first child with her husband Tarek El Moussa in January, and though she'll definitely be in season 6, it's not yet clear whether she'll be in season seven.
Selling Sunset season 6 is set to release on May 19 and fans haven't been able to keep calm as one wrote,
"Selling Sunset season 6 out tomorrow... quick I need to buy a bottle of Rose."
