On October 10, 2024, American football quarterback Tom Brady took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that he was donating $100K toward the victims of Hurricane Milton, which affected Florida. Brady shared a post on X, saying:

"Keep those impacted by these storms in your prayers, look out for your neighbors, and continue to help out anyway you're able. Stay safe, and stay strong Florida."

He also mentioned that American consumer goods company GoPuff matched the amount Brady pledged, and the donations made via "Give with Gopuff' would benefit the Volunteer Florida Foundation.

Internet users reacted to Tom Brady's tweet and expressed their views. Commenting on how Taylor Swift donated $5 million to Feeding America for victims of the storm, an X user tweeted:

"Come on, Brady. Step up your game. You can afford more. Heck, Taylor swift donated what, $5 million?"

A few users mentioned that $100K is not much for Brady, while another user remarked that the donation was a personal advertisement.

"Making a donation so that you can turn it into an advertisement" an X user commented
"This is actually like $10 to him" another X user stated
"That's equivalent to me donating a dollar." an internet user mentioned

Another user commented:

"$100K from Brady is like me dropping a crisp fiver in the collection plate on Sundays."

On the other hand, some internet users praised Tom Brady for his contribution:

"That’s awesome of Tom! Always coming through for the community. Stay strong, Florida!" an X user stated.
"More than anyone who commented “that’s it” makes in a year ☠️" another X user tweeted.
"Yall really saying “that’s it?” are honestly sad, 100k is still a lot of money and the fact he donated at all is a good thing," an internet user mentioned.

"I’m excited to give fans and collectors a chance to own and cherish these special pieces"- Tom Brady comments on auctioning off memorabilia

On October 1, 2024, auction house Sotheby's announced that Tom Brady would be selling memorabilia as a part of "The GOAT Collection: Watches and Treasures from Tom Brady." The auction comprises Brady's jersey, which he wore during the final football game at the University of Michigan, as well as his custom-made Audemars Piguet watch. However, the watch does not have numbers; instead, it has his name written with diamonds. The Roman numeral for 7 separates his name, which signifies the number of times Brady won the Super Bowl.

According to The Independent, Tom Brady commented on the auction in a statement mentioning:

“I’ve been so fortunate to have such an amazing journey in my career, and these watches and collectibles really capture those unforgettable moments and all the hard work behind them."

He continued:

“I’m excited to give fans and collectors a chance to own and cherish these special pieces from my journey just like I have. I hope they bring as much joy and inspiration to fans as they did for me!”

Moreover, the website mentioned that Brady's watch, which is a part of the auction, was worn by the quarterback during Netflix’s Greatest Roast of All Time: The Roast of Tom Brady. As per the auction house's press release, the watch might sell between $400,000 to $800,000.

In his X post sharing the news of pledging $100K for victims of Hurricane Milton, Tom Brady mentioned that everyone impacted by the hurricane must be kept in prayers. Brady also stated that people should look out for their neighbors and help out in any way possible.
