The Expendables 3 cast

The Expendables 3 is a 2014 action film, the film is the third installment in the series and is the sequel to The Expendables (2010) and The Expendables 2 (2012). Patrick Hughes directs the film. Unlike its predecessors, the film received a PG-13 rating, whereas the earlier films received an R rating. The film follows a ruthless arms dealer, Conrad Stonebanks (played by Mel Gibson), as he sets out to put an end to Barney Ross and his titular team.

The film is written by Katrin Benedikt, Crieghton Rothenberger and Sylvester Stallone. The film was distributed by Lionsgate Studios and received mid to negative reviews partly because of it’s PG-13 rating.

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone plays the role of Barney Ross, the co-founder and leader of The Expendables. He received huge acclaim for playing the role of boxer Rocky Balboa in the Rocky film series. Stallone received the status of one of the greatest action star when he played the role of Vietnam war veteran John Rambo in the First Blood series.

Since then, Stallone has received critical acclaim in the field of drama and action. Stallone basically pitched the idea and created The Expendables franchise, he even directed the first Expendables movie.

Jason Statham

Jason Statham plays the role of Lee Christmas, who is the team's knife expert. Statham is an English actor who earlier worked as a professional diver, he even represented England in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Statham is most notably known for doing his stunts and fighting in his own movies without hiring a stunt double.

He has worked in movies like The Transporter, Crank, Snatch, Furious 7, The Mechanic and The Expendables.

Antonio Banderas

Antonio Banderas plays the role of Galgo, a new recruit in the team, a former Spanish Special Forces operative, and a Croatian War veteran. Banderas is most famous for his role as El Mariachi in Robert Rodriguez’s Mexico trilogy.

Banderas worked alongside Angelina Jolie in the erotic thriller Original Sin. He played the role of Puss in Boots in films like Shrek 2 and the Puss in Boots film.

Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes plays the role of Doctor Death, a former member and one of the earliest members during the team's inception. Snipes is considered one of the most incredible action stars because of his work in Passenger 57 and Blade Trilogy, which is based on the Marvel superhero of the same name.

He has also worked in blockbusters like Demolition Man( alongside Sylvester Stallone), Money Train ( alongside Woody Harrelson), and Rising Sun (alongside Sean Connery).
