Episode 7 of The Good Bad Mother saw Young-soon (Ra Mi-ran) trying to take her own life after teaching Kang-ho (Lee Do-hyun) how to fend for himself. However, Kang-ho saves her towards the end. Mi-joo (Ahn Eun-jin), Kang-ho, the twins (Park Da-on, Ki So-yu), and Sam-sik (Yoo In-soo) spend some time together. Seo-jin (Park Da-on) even mentions that Kang-ho seems like his father.

The Good Bad Mother episode 8 finally sees Kang-ho making a huge recovery and brings the revenge plot to the forefront. Young-soon continues teaching Kang-ho how to take care of her if she ever leaves him. Kang-ho and Ye-jin come adorably closer while Mi-joo struggles with her feelings towards him.

The Good Bad Mother episode 8: Kang-ho begins walking, and Young-soon comes across mysterious evidence he hid before the accident

The Good Bad Mother episode 8 begins with an inconsolable Kang-ho saving Young-soon by standing up. He plops into the wheelchair once Young-soon is away from harm. An elated Young-soon asks Kang-ho to stand up again, but he looks up at the noose and storms off in the rain.

Mi-joo sees Kang-ho upset in the middle of the road. Seeing Mi-joo, Kang-ho breaks into tears. Mi-joo seems hesitant to go towards him. In the next scene, Mi-joo bandages Kang-ho’s chipped nails and applies the yellow nail polish.

The next scene in The Good Bad Mother episode 8 sees Kang-ho opening up to Mi-joo and telling her that Young-soon abandoned him. Mi-joo explains that there might have been a reason and that she understands because she was abandoned too. Young-soon arrives and calls out for Kang-ho.

Back at home, Young-soon tries to explain why she took the drastic step to Kang-ho, who is still upset. The duo shares a heartfelt scene where Young-soon mentions that she is sick and needs to be taken care of, but she doesn’t want to be a burden to Kang-ho. Kang-ho equates this by asking if he is a burden to Young-soon since she takes care of him as he is unwell. Young-soon realizes her mistake and apologizes.

However, the mood changes as The Good Bad Mother brings back the old, strict Young-soon in the next scene. She repeatedly tells Kang-ho to try getting up. After he fails, she wheels him to a nearby pond and throws him into the water. As he cries for help, Young-soon screams that he must get up to survive.

The back-and-forth between Kang-ho’s loud cries and Young-soon’s screams continues for some time. In a quick montage, Young-soon frequently brings Kang-ho to the pond. Along with his rehab exercises, his condition has improved.

One night, Kang-ho sees Young-soon taking pills, trying not to make a sound for him. Meanwhile, the villagers feel sad for her and decide to give her a new mobility scooter for Kang-ho.

The Good Bad Mother episode 8 also sees Sam-sik resorting to his tricky deeds. Sam-sik tries to take a loan on the names of his new business partners, aka CEO Song’s men. Their profile is rejected because they are listed as corporate employees. Sam-sik is naturally frustrated.

The next day, the owner of the agriculture chemicals shop sees a customer focusing on Mi-joo, who is focusing on her customers. Another customer tempts Mi-joo to take a bigger place from him for her shop, but she refuses.

Mi-joo’s twins once again steal the show as their antics and longing for their father in The Good Bad Mother episode 8 make everyone fall for them. Ye-jin and Seo-jin call Mi-joo and tell her that their father has arrived. The man turns out to be Mi-joo’s old friend, who visits her to ask for the money with which her friend Sun-young ran away. Ye-jin cries after Mi-joo tells him their father must urgently return to the US. Seo-jin is dejected.

While Geum-ja worries about the kids, they get all excited to see Kang-ho’s new automatic wheelchair. The villagers think of giving Young-soon a surprise. They go to her place with Mi-joo, Sam-sik, and CEO Song’s men and plan to reveal the mobility scooter after some time. However, they are surprised to see Kang-ho walk out on his own.

Everyone spends time together as some cook, clean, and eat. Kang-ho and Mi-joo cross paths. Kang-ho tells her that he wasn’t abandoned by Young-soon and believes that whoever Mi-joo thinks abandoned her has not really left her. Mi-joo gets teary-eyed and looks at Kang-ho walking away.

The twins love to see Kang-ho as an adult. All the villagers hope for Young-soon to reopen her pig farm again and offer help. Young-soon remembers the artist Hoon-ah and goes to his house to call him to eat together. He refuses.

Young-soon reveals that she has terminal cancer and that she informed her lawyer to transfer the farm to Hoon-ah’s name after her death. She adds that Kang-ho can walk now, and since the land is the only thing she can leave behind, she requests Hoon-ah not to take it away. She also tells him to keep her illness a secret from others.

Meanwhile, CEO Song’s men get closer to the evidence. However, Kang-ho remembers the duo as the same people who jumped from his closet. But Sam-sik ridicules it, saying that they are his business partners. Sam-sik’s father adds that they even bought his cornfield. Following this, people’s suspicions drown.

After the celebration, Mi-joo helps Young-soon clean up. She tries asking Young-soon what is troubling her, but Young-soon dodges the question. Mi-joo leaves for home with the twins. Ye-jin apologizes for her rude behavior when she gets angry after her "father" (Mi-joo’s friend) had left them in a hurry. Seo-jin praises Kang-ho’s build and asks if they can pretend that the latter is their father. Both Mi-joo and Ye-jin yell a strong refusal.

Sam-sik comes across them and confesses his love to Mi-joo again. He asks her to marry her and says that they can raise the kids together. Mi-joo tells him about her struggles, but he refuses.

An interesting turn in The Good Bad Mother episode 8 arrives next as Young-soon receives a call from Kang-ho’s security guard in Seoul. He gives her a letter that Kang-ho seemingly dropped off the same day Young-soon came to his house to give him food.

The letter brings the old Kang-ho back as viewers see his point of view after a long time. He mentions how much he misses her and her homemade meals. He apologizes for not being in much contact but says that he still lives "in the memories" he shared with her and his father. The last line confuses Young-soon.

Young-soon gives Kang-ho the letter and asks him to try to remember it. She senses something wrong as the letter’s words are much different than how old Kang-ho used to talk. However, the present Kang-ho does not remember. Young-soon starts doubting about Kang-ho’s accident.

Meanwhile, in The Good Bad Mother episode 8, we also see Young-soon talking to an investigation officer about Kang-ho’s fiance, Ha-young, and Oh Tae-soo’s daughter. He informs her that it is best she doesn’t get involved because she is getting married.

In a flashback, we see Ha-young trying out dresses for her wedding. She comes across Kang-ho telling someone to dress the baby warmly as the wind is cold near the sea. He also tells them that he will pick them up. Ha-young hears this and asks him about the baby, but Kang-ho does not answer properly.

In the present, a tear rolls down Ha-young’s face as she is seemingly in a shop trying out wedding dresses. Meanwhile, CEO Song calls up Tae-soo and tries blackmailing him, but Tae-soo ends up retaliating and blackmailing him. CEO Song’s men arrive and inform him that Kang-ho can walk again. He is elated. Elsewhere, Young-soon continues teaching Kang-ho how to take care of the pigs.

One of the most adorable moments of The Good Bad Mother episode 8 arrives next, as Ye-jin goes all heart-eyes for Kang-ho. Young-soon and Kang-ho dress up in yellow to go to town, while the twins come to meet him wearing the same colors. Ye-jin congratulates Kang-ho by giving him a yellow flower. Kang-ho compliments her and kisses her hand. Ye-jin falls head over heels for him and even tells Seo-jin that she will marry him once she grows up.

Young-soon clicks a loving photo with Kang-ho at the studio. She then requests that the photographer take her individual picture. Back at home, Young-soon teaches Kang-ho the formalities of the funeral.

Later, the mother-son duo sits comfortably, talking about their memories. Young-soon suddenly remembers Kang-ho’s letter and figures out the cryptic message - that something lies inside their family photo. She opens the frame and finds a hidden memory card.

Final thoughts

The Good Bad Mother episode 8 finally turned towards the revenge storyline. The hidden memory card hinted at Kang-ho having an underlying motive before approaching CEO Song and Oh Tae-soo. He also made sure that the evidence was intact and could only be found by him or Young-soon, implying that he knew his life would be in danger.

The adorable moments of Ye-jin and Seo-jin with Kang-ho also hint at him being their father. The Good Bad Mother episode 9 preview shows that the viewers will finally get the backstory of Kang-ho’s mission.
