What is The Last of Us based on?
The thriller series, The Last of Us, is based on Naughty Dog's 2013 video game of the same name. The video game’s creation started in 2009, shortly after the launch of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the earlier game created by Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog separated into two groups for this; one team worked on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, while the other half worked on The Last of Us.
Ellie and Joel's bond became the focal point, with every other factor developing around it. Actors Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker provided vocal and motion representation for Ellie and Joel, respectively, and worked with Neil Druckmann, the creative director, on storyline development and character. Gustavo Santaolalla created and played the original score.
