Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys, two teenagers allegedly ran over 64-year-old retired police chief, Andreas Probst on August 14, 2023, resulting in his death. A clip has now surfaced online of the duo laughing with each other in court during a hearing on Tuesday, October 24, as per the New York Post.
The footage went viral on social media, resulting in a plethora of users requesting capital punishment, despite their age. People were disgusted at the "level of inhumanity" displayed by Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16, and took to social media to react to the video.

On Tuesday, October 24, both teens appeared at a hearing, where they were seen laughing and allegedly made obscene gestures to the members of the victim's family. They were reportedly seen covering the right side of their face and seemed to try and control their laughter as they appeared in the Clark County court.
The victim's daughter, Taylor Probst told 8 News Now that the whole ordeal was a "game" to them and that they did not care if they or anyone lived or died. As per the New York Post, she also said that ultimately, the teenager's parents were the ones who failed.
"They really had no remorse, that this is just a game to them. A multitude of different people failed, but I think ultimately the parents on all ends. They’re the ones that failed," she stated.
Netizens believed that Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys' behavior in court proved that they were beyond rehabilitation. Some Twitter users believed they should be sentenced to life in prison, while others wanted them to be given the death penalty.

Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys allegedly hit Andreas Probst with a stolen car
Probst was riding his bike in the biking lane at Northwest Valley, Las Vegas, on August 14, 2023, before he was allegedly mowed down by the teens, on purpose. Ayala was accused of driving the vehicle, a stolen Hyundai Elantra alongside Jzamir Keys.
On the very same day, the duo was accused of multiple other crimes before the alleged murder, including hitting another man, a 72-year-old cyclist, with the stolen vehicle and crashing into another car. The duo allegedly stole two more vehicles after the alleged murder and crashed both of them.
The video of the incident, allegedly recorded by Jzamir Keys, went viral on social media, prompting massive backlash against the duo. According to the New York Post, one teen could be heard asking the other if he was ready before the teen recording the video said, "Get his a*s." The driver then reportedly accelerated and fatally crashed into the biker, who rolled onto the windshield, breaking it, and fell on the side of the road.
The driver was arrested on the day of the incident and was charged with attempted murder, and murder, along with 18 other charges, as per New York Daily News. The passenger was arrested five weeks later and was also charged with murder. Despite being minors, both teens are set to be tried as adults. As per KLAS, in a conversation between a police officer, and Jesus Ayala, recorded on a body cam, the teen could be heard saying:
"You think this juvenile s— is going to do something? I'll be out in 30 days, I bet you."
The trial for both the accused murderers, who pled not guilty, was set for September 16, 2024. The next hearing will take place on March 12, 2024.
