Taking to X on November 6, 2024, American radio host Alex Jones shared a video of himself and his Infowars crew raising a toast to Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential elections. Captioning the video "Now The Real Work Begins," Alex is seen toasting alongside his crew, saying:
"They declared a war on us, and we accepted the challenge."
Further into the video, Alex Jones struggles to open a bottle of champagne. After an attempt, Alex questioned if there was a bottle opener available and said:
"I mean, I'm not complaining here, but this is historic. Can I have a real bottle, guys?... There has got to be one in this facility. This is too historic, this is too historic. Go to a promo, go to a break. I'm not gonna mess this up."
Next, Alex's broadcast on the 2024 presidential election cut to a long commercial, showcasing footage of Trump becoming the 45th president of the United States. After the commercial ended, Alex poured champagne into a glass, and his crew joined him in raising a toast to Trump's victory.
Alex Jones's Infowars channel to be shut down by bankruptcy court: Details explored
While Alex Jones has endorsed Trump via his Infowars channel and expressed his ideologies against Kamala Harris this election season, as per The Independent, dated June 25, 2024, Alex's channel is set to be shut down. An emergency motion was put forth in bankruptcy court concerning the Alex Jones vs Sandy Hook families case.
Alex filed for bankruptcy in 2022 after the court ordered him to pay $1.5 billion to the Sandy Hook school shooting victims' families, where six educators and 20 first graders were killed. The radio host was sued for propagating a false theory, which suggested the shooting was a hoax. However, a judge ruled that Alex would not be released from paying the settlement amount despite filing for bankruptcy.
While the judge did not pass a ruling on the fate of Infowars in June 2024, the trustee in charge of Alex's bankruptcy proceedings said he would move to "conduct an orderly wind-down" of the radio host's Infowars media site and then liquidate Jones's business assets.
Moreover, as per NBC News dated October 26, 2024, the radio host has been trying to protect his personal social media accounts from being sold in the Infowars media platform auction in furtherance of paying what he owes to families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. In protecting his social media accounts, Alex Jones has claimed that selling those accounts would violate his privacy and deny him the chance to start fresh after filing for bankruptcy.
The trustee managing the selloff and liquidation of Infowars' assets and its parent company, Free Speech Systems, asked the federal judge to include the social media accounts to be part of the auctions scheduled in November and December; however, the judge delayed giving a decision on the matter.
According to NBC News, despite filing for bankruptcy and pending loss of Infowars, Alex Jones has mentioned that he will continue his talk shows via other means, like his personal social media account or a new website.
The radio host has also said the assets of Infowars could be bought by his supporters, which would enable him to continue hosting the conspiracy theory show as an employee.
