Abigail Breslin recently commented on her 2023 allegations against Aaron Eckhart, comparing her situation with Blake Lively. In a Tumblr and Instagram post dated December 29, 2024, Abigail indirectly compared Blake Lively's allegations of alleged s*xual harassment and launching a smear campaign against Justin Baldoni to her allegations against Aaron Eckhart.

Abigail's post read:

"In light of recent events regarding the attempt to destroy the career and livelihood of a fellow actress and woman , I have felt compelled to write this, as I have unfortunately been subject to the same toxic masculinity throughout my life. In my recent career, I’ve brought forward concerns about a male colleague and was deemed “hysterical.”"

According to a report by Variety dated November 2023, the producer of Abigail and Aaron's movie Classified, filed a suit against the actress alleging that her "imaginary" and "hysterical" allegations against Aaron Eckhart had jeopardized the film's release.

The lawsuit mentioned that Abigail Breslin had filed a complaint against Aaron Eckhart to SAG-AFTRA (The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists).

The actress refused to do scenes alone with Aaron and accused him of “aggressive, demeaning and unprofessional” behavior on set. She also claimed that Aaron Eckhart's behavior placed her in danger multiple times.

This resulted in SAG-AFTRA compelling the film's on-set producer, Mr, Georgiev to prepare an investigative report based on Abigail's claims. However, the on-set producer failed to find evidence supporting the actress' claims.

"I was publicly shamed and defamed in the process"- Abigail Breslin mentions in post addressing incident with Aaron Eckhart

In her Tumblr post addressing the 2023 lawsuit filed against her for accusing Aaron Eckhart of indulging in unprofessional behavior, Abigail Breslin said that when her former employer filed the now-withdrawn suit against her, she was under the impression that they would believe her allegations.

The actress said that she is not known as a liar in her field or world regardless of how vocal she might be, adding that is the reason she has been working for 25 years. Talking about the outcome of her complaint against Aaron Eckhart to SAG-AFTRA, Abigail said:

"Instead of being believed and protected, a suit was filed against me for having the audacity to speak up. I was publicly shamed and defamed in the process."

She continued:

A reputation I had cultivated for over 2 decades had now been tainted as I became the crazy, paranoid and to quote directly, “hysterical and wild” woman, who apparently just had it in for men."

Abigail Breslin said her allegation of abuse was "brought up as unfounded claims" and she was portrayed as someone who goes after men rather than being viewed as someone who has dealt as a professional in the industry since she was a child.

The actress said that the negative narrative against her was spread despite her taking the "recommended, reasonable and appropriate" measures of reporting Aaron Eckhart's behavior to SAG-AFTRA confidentially.

Abigail also mentioned that her experience at the time left her with a lot of questions about the professionals in the industry, the public, and men.

Toward the end of her post, Abigail Breslin questioned if women are supposed to uphold the burden of being perfect and to be victims. She added that in order to change this narrative, women needn't scream and rather have a lot more men listen to them.
