To keep it simple, Kylie Jenner had allegedly thrown shade at Selena Gomez through her TikTok videos.
The Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber drama has left the entire internet divided. Gomez fans are time and again taking a chance to take a nasty jab at Justin Bieber's wife Hailey and are brewing up bizarre speculations about the model on the Internet, while Hailey fans are trying as much as they can to protect her against it. These jibes on Hailey Baldwin started right after the day she got married to her beau Justin Bieber. Before being married to Hailey, Bieber and Selena Gomez were the most loved couple in the music industry. Currently, Gomez and Lady Bieber are said to be rumored rivals for their shared history with Justin Bieber.
Selena fans who are also called Selenators are highly protective of the singer and evidently cannot withstand anything said or posted against the "People You Know" singer. In February 2023, Gomez fans worldwide began accusing the youngest Kardashian, Kylie Jenner of trolling Gomez after she overtook Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram.
How did Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner's controversy start?
This alleged cold war between the singer and the model started after Gomez posted a TikTok video, in which she was glimpsed showing her eyebrows and saying, "I accidentally laminated my brows too much." Just a few hours later, Kylie Jenner uploaded two TikToks, one showed a selfie that focused on her eyebrows and the text read, "this was an accident?????." The second one was a screenshot of a FaceTime with Hailey Bieber, in which both friends had zoomed in on their eyebrows.
These two TikToks of the Kardashian star caught the attention of netizens, especially the Selenators and it went viral in no time. One TikToker, in their video, accused Jenner of having a beef with the singer and trolling her just because Gomez surpassed Jenner as the most-followed woman on the social media platform.
What did Kylie Jenner have to say about the accusations?
After the entire Eyebrow Gate controversy blew up, Jenner denied trolling Selena Gomez and called the accusations "Silly." Jenner commented on one fan's TikTok, "This is reaching. no shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly."
Did Selena Gomez leave TikTok?
Following the controversy, Gomez announced that she would be taking a social media break. She had a TikTok Live session with her fans in which she explained why she needed the break. Gomez said, "I'm very happy, I'm so blessed, I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world, and I just couldn't be happier. And I'm good. I love the way I am. I don't care, I'm big, I'm not… I don't care. I love who I am. And yeah, I'm gonna be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. And I'm 30, I'm too old for this, so. But I love you guys so much. And I will see you guys sooner than later, I just... I'm just gonna just take a break from everything."
The day, Jenner saw a massive fall in her Instagram followers and had lost around a million followers. She went from 380 to 379 in a day. However, she gained those million followers back by the next day.
