Munchausen-by-proxy awareness activist and social media personality Gypsy Rose Blanchard has expressed her thoughts on people visiting her old Springfield home where her mother was murdered. Recently, Gypsy replied to a TikTok video showcasing her old residence. She commented:

“Y'all have no respect or decency. A tragedy happened in that house yet yall visit it as if it was the Grand Canyon.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard hasn't visited her old home since she was released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center on December 28, 2023. After her release, Gypsy shifted to an Airbnb in Kanas City, MO with her ex-husband Ryan Anderson.

While she split from Ryan in March 2024, Gypsy is currently in a relationship with Ken Urker who shifted to New Orleans to be closer to her. The specifics of her current residence are not known.

A mother-daughter duo currently resides in Gypsy Rose Blanchard's old house

After Gypsy Rose Blanchard's release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center, her old residence in Springfield gained a lot of traction and neighbors reported that a lot of people with out-of-state license plates were stopping by to take pictures of the house.

The reason that the residence generated so much attention was the fact that Gypsy's mother Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard was murdered there. In June 2015, Gypsy along with her ex-boyfriend Nicholas "Nick" Godejohn conspired to kill the activist's mother for subjecting her to painful medical procedures and lying about Gypsy Rose Blanchard's health for years.

The Springfield residence was given to Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her mother by Habitat For Humanity as the mother-daughter duo lost their old residence in Louisiana because of Hurricane Katrina. Given Gypsy's medical condition at the time, the Springfield home had a wheelchair ramp and jacuzzi.

According to Realtor.com, Gypsy's old home was sold for $97,090 in August 2021 and a mother-daughter duo currently resides on the estate. The house has undergone a change in terms of the address to protect the current inhabitants and some changes in looks as well.

The wheelchair ramp has now been removed and the pink siding of the house has been changed to blue. While these changes divert people from trying to find the residence and click photos, even the neighbors refuse to give true-crime enthusiasts the address to Gypsy Rose Blanchard's old residence.

At one point, the neighbors of the Springfield residence opposed the practice of people visiting the property. In a 2019 interview with KY3, a local news station, one of the neighbors Thomas Pengilly commented on people stopping by the residence. He stated:

"I think it's kind of ridiculous. It's just glorifying something that doesn't need to be glorified. I do find it frustrating that there are vehicles coming through here and they don't belong here. There are little ones around and some of them of going fast and stuff."

While some fans have been supporting Gypsy Rose Blachard's reaction to people passing by her Springfield residence and posting videos of the same, the activist's recent comment has generated backlash as well.

It is the opinion of some people that the tragedy in the house that Gypsy is referring to was her own doing while some suggest she is allegedly indulging in replying to such TikTok's only to create a controversy.
