What is Jon Snow up to in season 4?
He goes north of the wall and escapes from a bunch of arrows Ygritte shoots at him and meets Olly who will turn out to be a traitor later. Mid-season, he leads a raid on the mutineers of Craster’s Keep where he kills Karl Tanner of Gin Alley and makes sure that Craster’s Keep is burnt down. After the infamous sex talk with Sam, one of the major battles in season 4 is the Battle of Castle Black. He manages command and defends, but amidst the fight he watches Ygritte get shot by Olly, holding her in his arms as she dies. She reminds him that he knows nothing. He decides to go north of the Wall to kill Mance Rayder but gets surrounded by Stannis’s army, meets Melisandre for the first time, and gives a burial for Ygritte.
What is Cersei Lannister up to in season 4?
The Queen of Westeros ends her incest relationship with her brother but we later find it is only temporary. She makes arrangements for her son Joffrey’s wedding, being her evil self making enemies of a lot of people at said wedding. The wedding soon turns into the son’s funeral and she blames Sansa and Tyrion for Joffery’s death. She bonds with Oberyn Martell over their daughters, she puts her brother Tyrion on trial for her son's murder, and she is more than happy to see her brother lose the Trial by Combat but will regret it later, as Tyrion then kills their father, Tywin Lannister.
What is Daenerys Targaryen up to in season 4?
She leads the Dothraki army through the seas. On her way to Meereen she walks past 163 dead children, later liberates the city of Meereen, and meets a slave trader Hizdahr zo Loraq. While making a mark on the throne she is presented with a burnt dead child, also discovers Ser Jorah’s treason and banishes him. For the death of a child she locks up two of her dragon babies, Rhaegal and Viserion. But Drogon, who did the burning, still flies high.

We see the iceman for the first time, and also we get to know what has been happening to Craster’s infant sons, when the King himself turns him into one of themselves with just a touch of a finger.
What is Tyrion Lannister up to in season 4?
For her own safety, Tyrion decides to send Shae away. without much choice. He attends Joffrey’s wedding, and when the king dies, Tyrion is arrested and put on trial. Tyrion's speech in the court peaked and he chose trial by combat. The Red Viper of Dorne comes forward as his champion, but the champion gets tragically slain by the Mountain. Jaime helps him flee. On the way he murders Shae, murders his father and escapes on a ship with Varys.
What is Sansa Stark up to in season 4?
She gets to know her family died at the Red Wedding and later attends the Purple Wedding of Joffrey and Margaery. She flees the scene as the king dies with the help of Ser Dontos and is handed over to Littlefinger, He takes her to meet the crazy aunt Lysa. In the Eyrie she gets kissed by Littlefinger, watches Lysa fly out the moon door, dyes her hair, and escapes from there to go home or die trying.
What is Arya Stark up to in season 4?
- She is on her journey with the Hound to find her aunt Lysa at the Eyrie. On the way she kills Polliver at an inn and gets her Needle back. She adds the Hound to her list.
- She also kills Rorge, laughs hysterically at the Bloody Gate when she misses Lysa going out the door; meets Brienne of Tarth; watches Brienne and the Hound fight; leaves the Hound to die and gets aboard a ship to Braavos.
This season was truly Game of Thrones, with most of the characters setting sail to new places and cracking open the world to exciting new possibilities.
